I have seen the name and I believe I have it in some of my notes. I will try and pull them over the next few days and get back with you. I also believe the last name is spelled a little different and that the town of Morganton listed in Tenn. is also NC. Try looking in the census for NC in 1880. Not sure about that, just a guess but I have done a lot of checking all parts of that census looking for clues for one of my brickwalls.

I am looking for information on the father of Lucius Halien Cabe born in 1831 in North Carolina. According to 1900's census he said his parents were from North Carolina but no one seems to know their name for sure and there are no census I can find that shows his name until after the 1900's after he moved to Tn. There is some indication his father's name was Jim but no information on a mother's name. I don't know if he is from the same family that your're lookiing for but if you have any information on that name I would appreciate hearing from you.

Hello, I am looking for information on the Stephen Cabe family of NC. Stephen b. 1867 was the son of Amos, son of Stephen l8l3. Stephen's wife was a Hester Moore. We believe she is the one listed in the l880 Census in NC with a family named Shanks. We know Hester married after Cabe died and moved to Ga. Her husband at that time was Otis Smith. Hester is buried in the Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesville, NC. Any information on this family would be appreciated. Thanks you, jt

Still trying to make a connection for Columbus Frank Cabe. Is his brother William John Cabe, born Aug. 1869 in TN. It makes sense as they both married Bates sisters in McKinney, Collin Co, TX. Are they the sons of James and Tennessee Cabe of Henry and Weakley Co, TN and also Graves Co,KY. Tennessee died in Nov 1869 in Henry Co. These county borders all connect as well as the State lines. Any help is appreciated.

Cabe/McCabe Family Y-DNA Surname Project

Hello Cabe Cousins,
I would like to share some important news with you concerning Cabe/McCabe family research.
There is a new project underway to try and determine how many of the various Cabe/McCabe family groups go back to a common ancestor.
Anyone who is a male with the surname of Cabe or McCabe can participate by going to www.genebase.com and ordering a Y-DNA kit, which will be shipped directly to you. The process is very simple. Once you receive the kit, with instructions for a cheek swab, you mail the sample back to their lab. The kits are $119.00 plus $12.00 shipping. Those of us who do not qualify to submit DNA samples can be involved by sponsoring a male relative or by recruiting male relatives to submit DNA samples. The broader base we have to work from the better results we will have.
This project is being headed up by Cilia Cabe Graham. Her email is: cgraham329@aol.com. Please let either Celia or me know if you would like to participate so that we will be able to track the results. Thank you very much. Margie Cabe Keener.

parents of Benj., Wm, James, Elizabeth, Sarah Frances & my Lucy Isabella Cabe

Lucy Isabella Cabe Honeycutt:
Her husband was Jake Honeycutt, her father was T (or J) Cabe and her mother was Sarah.
Does anyone have any info on this family?

Missouri just released its death certificates database online (type in: Missouri State Archives) and I was able to discover the maiden name of my great great grandmother. (Don't you just love the adventure?!)

From her Death Certificate #30642-a, I found her father named as Mr. Cabe and her mother was unknown. I was able to find Lucy CABE and other siblings in the 1850 Census records in the same county I had already found her with her first husband George M Colley and my great great grandfather Jacob Honeycutt many years later (Weakley, TN). Problem is her father is listed as T Cabe there and he's not found on later Census records.
In 1850 T Cabe 35 and Sarah 36 and Benjamin, Wm, James, Elizabeth, Sarah & my Lucy (ages 11, 7, 5, 3, 2, 4/12) are found as family/household 94/94. On 95/95 is H Cabe 25 and wife Manesa 24.

In 1860 census in Henry, TN, #1256/1280 is Widowed Sarah aged 43, William, James, Elizabeth, Frances (called Sarah in 1850)and Lucy (ages 27, 15, 13, 11, 10)listed. Henry W Cabe 34 and Manicia aged 33 and their 3 children are family/ household #1403/1429.

Was Henry W Cabe a brother of my T Cabe?
J.M. Colley (father of George)is listed on 1840 Weakley, TN census right next to John Cabe and James Cabe. Does anyone know who they are?

Margaret's parents were James Pyeatt of Virginia or North Carolina, and Catherine Finley. Don't know where Catherine was born, but she & spouse both died in Pulaski, Arkansas in mid 1830's.

Death Certificate arrived with place of birth for Columbus Frank Cabe as Mayfield, Graves Co, KY. This family of Cabes probably migrated over from Weakly and Henry Co's, TN. Although the death certificate gave his parents as unknown, there was only one CABE in Graves Co, KY in the 1870 census and this is James CABE with his wife Tennessee, and 2 children. Any help with this family would be appreciated.
Thanks.

At this time I only have Cabe research back to Hannah's parents Thomas Cabe and Letitia Stratton, but I'm just starting on that part of the family.

Doug Boucher
(The above is my wife's name and address. (b. 1802 GA). Her brother Thomas Jefferson Cabe (b. ca. 1836 Carollton,TN) is my ancestor. She also had brothers James, John M. and Samuel.
