Are any of you folks able to look in the County and/or State Archives and see if there may be any chance that the slave owners listed the names of their slaves, who may have left the slave to someone in a will?
Cabell and/or Eldridge are found in Henrico, Albemarle, Amhurst, Goochland, Buckingham, and Brunswick Counties, Virginia before there was a West Virginia.
I have the book "The Cabell's and their Kin" by Randy Cabell, but none of the names you have are listed.
