I don't know for sure if they were kin, but my great grandmother, Frances Elizabeth Womack Cabler, of Meridian married William Quincey Cabler. They also moved to Brownsville in 1922. Will Cabler was a cowboy in his youth who worked on a ranch called Hashknife near Seymour. I am not blood kin to the Cabler's.
There was an Alma Rasmussen Baxter mentioned in their written family history who married Sim Baxter. Sim was the son of Aunt Sue and Uncle Will Baxter. Sue was my the sister of my Great-great Grandpa John A Womack.
It appears there is some connection. Maybe your grandpa was my Uncle Will Cabler were brothers. I don't know any other history of the Cablers of that era.
