My great grandfather came from the Azores In about 1883. His name could have been Joao Cabral. My grandfather was born in the Azores also, John Cabral and grandmother who was Mary De Rosaire,this was her maiden name. I some times wonder if there last name was really Cabral. There name was changed to Cable when they got to Port Townsend WA. They left the Azores on the Ship Abergeldie It was March 2,1883. From what I have read they went to Hawaii and most stayed there and worked in the cane fields. Some like my family did not stay and came to WA. I would like to know what ship they got on to get to the states.
