I am searching for a Mary CABRAL, she is from Fayal, Portugal. Her family was sponsered by her future brother-in-law Frank Terry who owned "Terry's Lumber Yard" in Sacramento, CA. She arrived in Ellis Island then came by train to California around the time of the 1906 Earth Quake.

Currently my wife and myself are working on the genealogy of the Cabral, Mello, da Silva and de Medeiros families in the Azors.
Currently we have about 1600 names in the database and its growing fast.
we have info from about 1800 to 1840 now and are hoping to have the rest up to about 1900 by the end of march.

I am looking for information about my great-grandparents and their parents. Joseph and Gertrude married in Candelaria, Ponta Delgada in Sao Miguel. They had 8 children: Manuel (Manny), Francisco (Frank), Mary, Sara, Antonio (Tony), Joseph, Joao (John) and William (the youngest and my grandfather, born Jan. 7, 1920. I believe they were all born in the US so Joseph and Gertrude would have had to have sailed to the US in the late 1800's or early 1900's. I think my great-grandparents may have settled in CT but I am not sure. At least 2 of their children lived their adult lives in Somerset, MA - William and Frank. Any further information would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to find information about my Great Grandfather, Jacintho Cabral. I know he was born in Sao Migel in 1852. He immigrated here in 1889, possible from Hawaii. His second wife's name was Emma. He had 20 children from two wives. One of his sons was Bernard James Cabral, my grandfather, who was born June 15,1896 in Oakland, Calif.
I can not find any information about him after the 1910 censes. If you have any information I would appreciate your sharing.

I am tracing family information on:

Antonio Cabral (1854 -1928) and lived on the island of Santa Maria, the Azores. About 1879 he married Margaride Adelina de Jesus (1857 - 1926). They had five surviving children;

A. Isadora (who married Manuel Dormings),
B. Mary (who married Manuel Joseph Sousa),
C. Antony (who married Margaret Kelly),
D. Joseph (who married Hilda Gonsalves) and
E. Isabel (who married Joseph Rocha).

All Cabral children were born on the island of Santa Maria, the Azores. In 1900 the family traveled "first class, not steerage" to the USA where they established themselves in the Boston area. Antonio Cabral and Margaride Adelina (de Jesus) Cabral are buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Arlington, Massachusetts.

Please contact me, should you have any additional information regarding the descendant of any of the people listed.

I am looking for information regarding my great-great grandparents and their parents, who lived in Sao Miguel, Azores in the late 1800's. Hilario da Camara was baptized in the Church of Sao Jose in Ponta Delgada and his parents are unknown to me. He married Cristina Augusta de Jesus in Ajuda Bretanha, Sao Miguel, Azores on November 26, 1874.
Cristina Augusta de Jesus was baptized in the Church of Sao Pedro of Ponta Delgada and her parents are unknown to me. The marriage of Hilario and Cristina produced 5 children. Antonia, Antonio, Joao, Francelina and Francisco. If anyone can tell me more about my family I would be so appreciative.

Hi, I was doing some reaserch on the cabral surname. I was able to find out that the earliest records of the surname cabral go all the way back to Sicily. The surname was first found in Aragona, Italia. Recrods go back before the 1200's. records r found in cathedrals,and in local notaries in town. The Cabral coats of arms has a yellow goat and three blue leaves. I know that the Cabral Portugese coats of arms also has a goat, but its purple. Sicilia ( Sicily ) is also known as the land of the goat. The surname Cabral has a goat in its surname cause it come from Sicily. The land of the goat. I thought I would share that would you. Manuel married Maria bento, They had 3 children that I know of. There names were Agostinho, ( my grandfather ) born august 1888. Manuel Born dec.1886, and Maria . I don't have a date for her. There mother Maria Bento died and Manuel remarried . her name was Julia Rapoza. They all came to the U.S. on March 18, 1897 and they came on the SS Dona Maria into Ellis Island.
All I know is that they came from Sao Miguel Azores and they settled in New Bedford Mass.

In 1930 Arthur Joseph Cabral was living with his parents in Santa Clara, Santa Clara County, California. He was 14 years old and was born in California as were his parents. His father was Joseph V Cabral age 45 and his mother was Rosie R. age 33. Arthur's siblings were Josephine age 20; Lawrence A-age 14 (Arthur's twin) Dorothy age 10; Irvine R. age 8; Winford C age 3

He worked for Molenterrio Stone, Lincoln, RI, in the 90's. He was in the Navy Seals in the Vietnam era. His girlfriends name was Sally and they were to get married. About 1879 he married Margaride Adelina de Jesus who was born in 1857 (died 1926). They had five children, Isadora (who married Manuel Dormings), Mary (who married Manuel Joseph Sousa), Antony (who married Margaret Kelly), Joseph (who married Hilda Gonsalves) and Isabel (who married Joseph Rocha); all were born on the island of Santa Maria, the Azores. In 1900 the family traveled "first class, not steerage" to the USA where they established themselves in the Boston area. Antonio Cabral and Margaride Adelina (de Jesus) Cabral are buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Arlington, Massachusetts.

My father was born in Madeira, Portugal on May 2, 1934, and he was a Fisherman by trade. He met my mother in Columbia about 1933-1934. According to my information she had one sister I believe was Nancy and two brothers Joseph and Antone Jr. She once was married to a Schrader. Her parents name were Antone Cabral and Isabel Moniz. They all were born in Hawaii. My Great Grandfathers name is Marion Cabral (Mariano ?) who was married to Mary Costa Rita. After that they moved to New York for two years and then to Brazil for about 10 years. My grandmother Mary Botelho had 11 brothers and sisters and lived in San Jose, Calif.
