Seems like there are a lot of Cacace's from Brooklyn. I will repost a message to see if there's any connection:

I just found out a connection to a Catherine Cacace, probably from Brooklyn. She is the "registered owner" of a gravesite in which my relatives, Angelo Pacelli (d. 1957) and Violet Pacelli (d. 1960), are buried (St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY). I was just at this gravesite a few weeks ago, and someone had recently been there (put two potted plants on the grave). I have no idea who, but this was particularly exciting since I am unaware of any living relatives from this side of the family. My Pacellis were from Brooklyn, at least from 1900 - 1930/40.

I have no idea who this Catherine is or how she may be related, but I will provide a link to one my recent posts re. the Pacellis to see if there are any connections:

http://boards.ancestry.myfamily.com/surnames.pacelli/96/mb.a...

Looking for biological grandmother/mother of William Whitmore/Cacace

I have very limited information. I am looking for a woman with the last name (maiden) Whitmore. She became pregnant at the age of 16 in aprox. 1952. She had my dad in Redhook Brooklyn New York until he was aprox two years of age at which point she gave him up for adoption through the Whitmore/Cacace family. My fathers name was William James Cacace. He passed away at the age of 42. It is my understanding that my grandmother re-married and had more children with a man somewhere in up-state New York. I am looking only for medical reasons and would not interfere in anyone's life. Anyone with info please reply.
Thank you

His brother was Anthony Cacace who had a son (Anthony), who also had a son (Anthony) that he gave up for adoption to my grandparents. I am very limited on information and am trying to get more myself. I know that my great grandfather worked for Coney Island and that my Granfather Salvatore also had four older sisters.
My g-grandfather was Domenico. He and his wife, Caterina nee Coppola, had 3 sons. Giuseppe, Domenico, Jr., and Eduardo, and two daughters, Maria and Giulia. Unfortunately, there were many Cacaces from Sorrento. If you find a connection, let me know. I do know that my grandfather, Domenico, Jr. had cousins in New York and his sister Maria raised her family there. Her married name was Aprea.

Twins seem to abound in the Cacace family tree. I'm a twin, I have two step brothers from my father's previous marriage that are twins and my father had two uncles that were twins.
I'm glad to see that the Cacace family has branched out a lot farther then I thought. I always figured they consentrated on the east coast and NY and NJ and CT. But we're all over the place it seems. Did you guys see in the paper back in 1997 or 1998 about a Cacace that apparently swindled Peter Falk's( Columbo from TV ) mother out of 1.2 Million dollars? I was shocked at that one.

Hi Denise,
I just read your message dated Feb. 06,2000 on the Message Board and I had to respond even though it's over a year old, in hopes that you would get this. My dad, Dorino Cacace, was also a first cousin to Judge Robert Cacace in Yonkers, New York. His dad's name was Felice and he died in 1945.I can surmise from your message then, that Felice, Orlando, and Armando were brothers.I know that Felice came over in 1911 from Tagliacozzo, Italy with his wife, Luisa, and maybe his brothers. My dad is still alive and living in Hawaii. He just turned 82 on April 7th.
I am so excited to make a contact with someone. Please get back to me on this. I'd love to hear from you. I, myself, am living in eastern Washington and when I visited new York eight years ago, I also went to see the Robert A. Cacace building and took a picture of it. I look forward to hearing from you. God bless! Patty

Hi Gary,
I'm new to this website and have been browsing the Cacace messages and thought I'd take a closer look at yours since you are a Westchester Co. resident. I thought perhaps you'd be one of Judge Robert's sons. Bobby was one of my first cousins and when I came east last summer my sister Caron and I drove around that courthouse area 4x looking for a parking place jus tto see that plaque. Hard to believe, a building dedicated to Bob. My father's name was Orlando and he was a twin. I found his brother Armando in the SSDI, but not dad. Well, anyway, hello. Denise

Hi Gary, I'm also in Westchester Co. (New Rochelle) and I'm very interested in what your father could tell you. My Grandfather was George Cacase and his father before him was Ercole Cacace, who ended up in Brooklyn, NY. In the 1909 directory for Brooklyn, it shows 3 Cacace's: Frank, Ercole, Louis. Have you heard any of these names? My Grandfather had a brother named Tavi (Octavio) and two sisters, Celeste and Meta.
I'd love to hear from you!

My Grandfather was Ignatius Cacase (He changed it from Cacace) His father was Ercole Cacace, his mother Isabella Winklebach. Needless to say, he was born 1909 in Brooklyn, NY. When I was at the National Archives in NYC I found three Cacace's in the directory of 1909. Frank Cacace, Fish, Ercole, Candy and Louis, Barber! It seems to me there must be a connection. Could it be three brothers? I also searched the NYC directory and came up with NO Cacace's. I'd love to know what info. you've got on the Cacace's. Please write back!

My name is Gary Cacace and I'm located in Westchester County in New York. I'm about 45 miles north of Manhattan. My father's name is Murray, and he was born in this country; however, his father (my grandfather) was from Sorrento (his name was Mariano? I need to double check). He was one of five brothers who came across from Sorrento to the States. Again, my father has more information than I do, and I can probably get more detail if you're interested. Also, I have a brother, Richard, in Florida.

Nice to meet you! Happy holidays...

--Gary

P.S. In this area of NY, there are LOTS of Cacace's. In fact, the court house in Yonkers, NY is named the "Robert W. Cacace Justice Center". Big bold letters on the building! Cool, huh? BTW, Robert was a judge in Yonkers.

Hi Denise; I don't know if you remember me or not. I’m Lou Cacace’s son, Rich. I haven’t heard anything about you for years (Since you’re Dad died)
The last time I say you was at his funeral (1958 ?) Anyway it’s been a while for sure. I’ll send a photo when we get back from Alpine in about a week or so.
I’m sure you won’t recognize me. Dad passed away last July in Alpine. He was 93 years old & had been sick for over two years from a stroke. My wife, Pat, had been taking care of him at his house all that time.

Lucia (Lucy),

Sorry I did not reply to your inquiry sooner - I do not check these boards very frequently, and I did not receive an e-mail letting me know that someone replied to my post. I came back to the forum because someone else replied to an old post of mine and I actually did get an e-mail this time! I ran across your reply by accident!!

In any case, I spoke with my Dad last night (named Murray, after his father Mariano). Unfortunately, my Dad's parents had separated when he was relatively young, so he does not know that part of his family history very well. He learned much later in life that his father and his brothers came to the US and lived in Brooklyn. He believes that one of the brothers was named Joseph, but he's not 100% certain. He does know that Mariano was one of 5 brothers (not sure about any sisters).

I'd like to continue our conversation in e-mail rather than a public forum. Can you please send me an e-mail to my Hotmail account (MajorHavoc83@hotmail.com). I hope to hear from you soon.

Warm regards,
Gary Cacace (living in Westchester County, NY)

Well, this is a part of the family I don't think I know yet. Judge Robert "Bob" Cacace was my uncle, his sister Eleanor Cacace Macellaro (died in 1971) was my mother. When I was young we had regular Cacace family reunions, often at "Uncle Billy's" (William Cacace) house in Alpine, NJ, and occasionally in Yonkers, NY or at Macy field in Ardsley, NY. My grandparents, Fiore (Flower) Cacace and Mary DelBello Cacace, were both from large families and I know I have lots of relatives I've never met. I would be happy to get in touch with any or all - I know of a few relatives on the DelBello side who have lots of memorabilia and information.

Your message is interesting as my grandfather's name is also Mariano, from Sorrento. He also was one of 5 brothers. His brothers names were Diodato, Pasquale, Vincenzo and I believe Raffaele. I would be interested to know if these names are consistent with your grandfather's brothers. I'll look forward to hearing from you.
