I was born and live in the greater Tornto area (Ontario, Canada) but my father, Salvatore Caccamo, was born in Siderno Superiore in Calabria. Specifically, the "contrada" or district/ward called "Oliveto". My father came to Toronto in 1960 with his mother Costanza Caccamo and brother Francesc Caccamo. My dad's father, Giuseppe Caccamo, died at an early age. Other brothers of his came to Toronto a few years earlier: Michele Caccamo (deceased), Orlando Caccamo, and Mario Caccamo. Two sisters and one brother stayed behid in Italy: Eleonora Caccamo (now living in Genova, Italy), the late Rosa Caccamo (who resided in Siderno), and Cosimo Caccamo, who still lives in Siderno (Oliveto). They all had many children and grandchildren. Some of the late Rosa Caccamo's children immigrated to South Bend, Indiana, USA; their last name is Lizzi.
