Hi Tony. This is exiting, but I am at a loss to provide further details. My father emigrated to England in the 1960s and the rest of the family joined him in 1970. I am the only one left and live in Great Yarmouth (UK). I went to visit 'my' aunt Rosa this summer and her son from Milano was there. I'll 'phone/contact what's left of my family to find out more information. If it helps I had a brother called Girolamo (aka Cosimo) which was a family name and a sister called Lidia.

a presto
Dominic

PS where are you from?

Hi, my family name is Caccamo and they also come from Calbria. My father was born in Siderno Superiore and his father's name was Domenico. I know that my father's brother emigrated to Australia; he also had two sisters one of which is called Rosa and lives in Siderno.

Maybe further information will provide accuracy.

My father's name was Angelo, from Siderno Superiore, and married Maria Ubaldo aka Vumbuca/Bumbuca, Mirto - Siderno. My father's father was called Domenico. I don't really know how many brothers my father had, but all the brothers emigrated, one to Argentina(I believe)and the other to Australia and lives in Perth - (my nephew Santino Bruzzese, from Donisi, Married to Ornella visited then a few years ago. My father had two sisters who still live in Siderno, but I am only in touch with Rosa who is married to Domenico (Micu)- they have three children one of which is a bricklayer called Franco. My Father emigrated to England with his brothers-in-law which included: Michele(who married Esther an english woman) e Domenico Ubaldo (married to Maria), Ciccio from Grappidaro who married my aunt Elvira.
I have an aunt, from my mother side, who is nun and working in Togo called Lina(Suor Michela). If this revives old memories please get in touch. Ciao

I am working on Caccamo family from Grotta, Reggio, Calabria.
The only info I have is on Demtrio Caccamo married to Guisipina Amuso and moved to Chicago around 1912. I believe his Father was Domenico Caccamo and wife Paola (last name unknown. Is this any connection with your family?

I was born and live in the greater Tornto area (Ontario, Canada) but my father, Salvatore Caccamo, was born in Siderno Superiore in Calabria. Specifically, the "contrada" or district/ward called "Oliveto". My father came to Toronto in 1960 with his mother Costanza Caccamo and brother Francesc Caccamo. My dad's father, Giuseppe Caccamo, died at an early age. Other brothers of his came to Toronto a few years earlier: Michele Caccamo (deceased), Orlando Caccamo, and Mario Caccamo. Two sisters and one brother stayed behid in Italy: Eleonora Caccamo (now living in Genova, Italy), the late Rosa Caccamo (who resided in Siderno), and Cosimo Caccamo, who still lives in Siderno (Oliveto). They all had many children and grandchildren. Some of the late Rosa Caccamo's children immigrated to South Bend, Indiana, USA; their last name is Lizzi.
