Hi Sean:
Thanks for your message. Alexandra De LaRocca is a village not too far from San Biagio Platani, and as I remember, the person in the town records office in San Biagio said she thought the Cacciatores came from there, although someone else said Catania. Your grandmother was probably of the "next generation"; my grandmother was born in 1877. I do know that Gaspare Cacciatore and Francesca Messina had at least 2 other children: Michelangelo Cacciatore born in 1857 and Felicia born later. I got my info from the Mormon Church Family History Center in 1997 and the records ended in 1864. I'm told that the church is now recording later records for publication on the net in the next two years. Maybe at that time we can confirm what other children Gaspare and Francesca had. My educated guess is that one of the male children of my great grandfather Gaspare had a son whom he named Gaspare after his father which was the custom. This could be your great, great grandfather, who married Guiseppina Bonana and had Rosalia in 1895. We are probably of a different generation(I am 57) accounting for the number of greats before the grandparent's names. I hope to fill in some blanks in the near future. If I can make any further connections, I will let you know. Please keep my email address and I will keep yours so we can stay in touch.
Rosanne
