We went to Washington Co. TN and several surrounding counties but found very little information. My great grandfather, Isaac N Hale, is buried in a Travis County cemetery I assume was on Cade land. Very RUSTIC cemetery, we had to take a jeep ride to get there. Please contact me at john5lee@aol.com if you want to compare information.

Thank you for replying to my query. Ironically, we are in Missouri, but we live in Travis County, Texas. One of the sons of James H. Cade, John Columbus was my great grandfather.
Unfortunately, I didn't bring any of the genealogy info with me. We are near Newton County, MO. where we found land records of James and Susanna. She was my great, great grandmother. We were hoping to find where Susanna is buried. To date, I haven't found any record of the parents of James. If you have any suggestions of where I might look while here, please let me know. BTW: our family still maintains some of the land settled by John Columbus in Travis County.

James H Cade is my great great grandfather also. I think Susanna must have died in MO. James married wife #2, Elizabeth Martin my great great grandmother, came to Texas with Elizabeth and the four children from previous marriage. They lived in Travis County, Texas and had three children. One of these three was my great grandmother Elizabeth who married Isaac N Hale, he died and she married his younger brother Jefferson D Hale. Have never been able to locate parents of James H Cade, any help would be appreciated.

CADE mystery marriage

I am looking for information about my grandmother. Her name was Dorothy Lorraine CADE. She was born June 18, 1917, in Alaska, the daughter of William Earl CADE and Alta Francis FURNISH. Not long after, the family moved to Albany, OR. She was a freshman at Madison High School in 1932. Sometime within the next 3 years, she left school. She returned to school, spending her senior at Albany High School in 1938. There she was introduced to her future husband, Ray MUDGETT.
We did not find out until after her death that she was married once before. This is the information I am looking for. I know only that his name was David, and there was a child born to this union. The baby died, probably within the first year, and was buried in "the big cemetery" in Albany. The marriage ended shortly after.
I'm not sure what happened to the husband. I don't know if he died, or they divorced. It's possible this is why my grandmother left school. It's also possible the pregnancy occurred out of wedlock. That might be why I'm finding it so hard to track it. My grandmother was our family historian, only revealing this information to her eldest daughter, much later in life. She even showed her a photo of the boy's grave. She never told her the father's name.
Only one of my grandmother's siblings remains. My great-aunt doesn't remember much, as she was 13 years younger than her sister. She remembers his name was "David something".
I know it's not much, but any information would be helpful. Even suggestions for where to search would be appreciated. I've hit an enormous brick wall with this.
