Father, Juan Antonio Garcia Mateos born Spain, Castille, Almaza about 1750
Mother, Francisca Gabriela Sanchez Y Muniz, born Salamaca about 1750

I am looking for brothers and sister who may have emigrated to New Orleans or Cuba. Am most interested is when/how he joined the Spanish Navy. Manuel was highly decorated by the King and Queen at the time.

Alejandro Cadiz & Daria Olguin had the following children that I know of:

Maria Felipa Cadiz who married Jose Nicolas Lara (son of Toibio Lara & Catarina Gandara) on 23 Feb 1846 in San Elizario, TX. He died 30 May 1848 in San Elizario. They had one child together, daughter Maria Damasa Lara baptised 20 Dec 1846 born 15 Dec 1846 in San Elizario, TX. She had other children with unknown father/fathers:Jose Antonio baptised 8 Sept 1850, Francisco Cadiz born 23 Mar 1853 died 5 April 1854, (Maria)Francisca Cadiz born 8 Oct 1854 died 28 Jan 1862, Alvino Cadiz born 19 Oct 1856. On baptismal records lists Felipa as a widow.

Maria Dolores Cadiz who married Sostenes/Sosteno/Sostes Beltran (widower of Basilia Renteria)on 23 Feb 1852 in San Elizario. They adopted Jose Antonio Cadiz (see above, Maria's nephew), had Anastacia b. 2 May 1856 in San Elizario, Librado b~1861 (census records), Elsario b~1863 (census records), adopted Leonor b. 7 April 1874 (parents unknown per baptismal records).

In researching my grandmother's family history I found that her grandmother's last name was Cadiz. My grandmother is still alive and was born in 1898. She shared that her great-grandmother (father's side of the family) was from Ireland... I don't have much information except the fact that my great-great-grandmother's name was Maria Cadiz (My grandmother's grandmother). She was married to Jose A. Garcia from Humacao, P.R. We may not be related, but I wish you the best in your research.

My Great Grandmothers name was Rosa Pita Cadiz, the family originated from Spain and my grandparents were born in Cuba.Rosa was married to Manuel Alvarez but later seperated.i know she was married once before with a man who's ast name is Anel and had 3 children from him. the following names come from her family if u have anyone of these people in your family tree I would appreciate if u write to me. Does anyone know the meaning of this last name?
It belongs to an ancestor who came to Puerto RIco by way of Cadiz where he lived for many years. He was, however, originally from Asturias or Galicia. I'm not sure.
