I have a Grand Uncle (Frank Machado Caetano)and and Great Grand Uncle (Francisco Caetano do Canto) who's families are from around the the Fresno area. I'm from Visalia, CA. All of these Frank Caetanos were from Ribeirinha, Terciera, Azores, Portugal. I have Joao Ventura doing my research and he lives in Ribeirinha. Some of our relatives changed theri names to Katen.

João Caetano. His brother was Manuel Oliveira.

They were born in Madalena, Pico, Açores

João Caetano married Maria Rodrigues. They had a daughter (maybe more, but I'm only aware of the one daughter)

Adelaide Rodrigues Caetano (July 8, 1899). She married John Garcia Saca. If you have any information about Adelaide or João, PLEASE share it with me.

Caetano family in Pico Acores

MY great great grandfather was Manuel Caetano Vieira from Sao Roque in Pico Acores. He Married Felicia Luisa and had a son named Silvano Da Rosa. My great grandfather Silvano was a whaler who died at sea. He married Maria Cristiana who was from Santo Antonio in Pico Acores. I know that she died in 1969. My grandmother Silvina was born in 1909 and had a twin brother named Silvano. That is as far as I have been able to research. If you have any info on my family I would be very happy to hear from you and share any info that I may have.

Claudine, do you know of the Antonio Juan Caetano, m. Mary, came to Ca. from the Azores, had a son, Anthony John Caeton, m. Ardath, had a son, Lionel John Caeton, that settled in Hanford? I am married to Lionel John Caeton, and I have been trying to find any information past Antonio Juan and cannot. Thank you for any information. I can be e-mailed at candc55@netptc.net.

Hello, Claudine, I was browsing and looking for my husbands' family. I found your message in reply to another, and maybe you can help me. The names I have, are: Antonio Juan Caetano (Anthony John Caeton); was my husbands (Lionel John Caeton) Grandfather. From the information I have, is only that he came from Portugal. I don't know what island. He married Mary Natal Machado, and I heard she was from the mainland.
Anyway, Antonio changed his name to Anthony John Caeton after he came to the States. He had three brothers,
Frank Caetano;
Joseph Caetano m. Mary and they had a son named Frank that m. a Mary, then there are a Joe, Frank and two girls of which I don't have names;
Manuel Caetano m. Clara.

Anthony and Mary Natal Machado Caetano had one son, Anthony John Caeton m. Ardath Funk, and they had Lionel John Caeton (my husband), Jeanette Marie, Anthony Dennis, Thomas Michael, and Anthony John III.

My husband said his grandfather changed his name to Caeton, but he can still remember the name Caetano on the mailbox. By the way, they lived in Hanford. Thanks again.

I appologize for using this board for trying to find a friend but I am not getting any responses from other boards. I am trying to find a friend of mine. His name is John Caetano. He'd be about 28-29 yrs old now. He is from Rhode Island. We met in Okinawa, Japan in 1993 while we were both stationed there. He was in the Marines from 1989-1993.
