My grandfather was Joseph Cafaro. Born in Italy (don't know where) 6/29/1891. Married Rose Marie (Rosie) Verlotte(a) February 20, 1913 in Lawrence Pennsylvania. They lived in Hillsville, Pa then ultimately moved to Niagara Falls, NY. I know nothing about his family. He immigrated in 1906. He was killed in an explosion at Titanium Alloy Manufacturing on May 23, 1942.

Does anyone know of any connection?

my grandmother was angelina cafaro,she married john graziano in belona italy.they came to america prior to ww1,returned to italy and farmed.after ww1 they moved to america permantly.they lived in youngtown and then to albany new york.ihave cafaro relatives in seneca falls new york'.ihad a shopping center in canastota new york and retired in1991.

Joe: One of the 3 brothers is Joseph Cafarom ny husband's grandfather. I'm working on his geneology. Joseph had 2 other brothers, Michele (Mike) and Rosario (Ross). Their father was already in Pittsburgh and lived near water street. Do you have info on the sisters? I would be happy to share any info I have as well. Thank you, Pat

dear brother of Sara (Edward) Graf, Dr. Angelo M. (Constance), Mary Louise (Raymond) Kessler, Dr. Ross P., Rosella (Edward) Cassidy, Stella Christine, Joseph, John (Katie) and the late Dr. Victor Paul Cafaro; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Frank was a dentist and practiced general dentistry in Mt. Washington for a number of years. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine. He was a member of the American Dental Association, the Pennsylvania Dental Association, the Dental Society of Western Pennsylvania and the Pittsburgh Academy of Dentistry. He was also a board member of St. Justin Plaza, served as sacristan and Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary of Mercy at the Point, Downtown, was a member of St. Sylvester Church, Brentwood, and an avid pianist. Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME INC., 412-881-4100, 4201 Brownsville Road, Brentwood, PA 15227, where a Funeral Prayer will be offered at 9:15 a.m. Thursday followed by a Mass of Christian Burial will at 10 a.m. in St. Sylvester Church. I am not sure if Marge Cianci will see this. Her post was 9 years ago... But I am Alfonso Cafaro's great-granddaughter. Nicholas Cafaro is my Grandfather... I have always been curious of our relatives from Alfonso's family he left in Italy. JoAnn who replied, a long time ago, is my cousin too.

My ex husbands family came from Caserta, Italy to Pittsburgh, PA about 1899. His grandfather's name was Vincenzo (James) Cafaro & he lived in Swissvale, PA. In 1922 when the family went to Italy for a visit, Nicola Cafaro in Pastorano, Italy.

Michele Fraticelli (from Montorio al Vomano) left Italy between 1900-1919 for Canada with two sons: Nicola (born around 1909) and Vincenzo (born around 1904). Daughter Elisabetta Grazia (b. 1899-04-15) came to Canada in 1920 and married Alfonso Merlini (b. 1896-09-12) in 1921. Michele Fraticelli's daughter Maria was born in 1905 and also came to Canada. She married Achille Forlini in 1929. Daughter Rosa (Fraticelli) never came to Canada and stayed with her mother (Marianina Perla) and married a Cafaro. I am looking for information on the Rosa Fraticelli-Cafaro line (and any information on Marianina Perla). Michele Fraticelli and Marianina Perla are my great-grandparents.

To David, in NJ: My grandmother was Angelarosa Teti. She had 3 brothers, John, Noah, and Abel. They came from Caggiano, Salerno in the year 1903, I believe. They all lived in Hudson County NJ. As a kid I remember her corresponding often with cousins in Caggiano. She may have had Cafaro cousins in lower Manhattan (but they also may have been Teti's, I'm not sure).
I thought I knew of my relatives pretty well, but confess I don't remembers any Vincents or Davids.

Sorry, I haven't done a family tree. It is something I am very curious about though. I would love to meet my family and know more about them. I do know where Moon Twp. is, I am from Kittanning, Pa. Vincenzo (James) Cafaro was born 0n 7/17/1880 in Caggiano, Salerno, Italy. He migrated to America in 189. What is your grandfathers name? They could have been related.

James came to America in 1899 & he was naturalized in 1917 He & his family went back to Italy for a visit & they returned to the US on 12/5/1922. James was born 7/17/1880 in Caggiano, Salerno, Italy.

Hey family!! My family comes from Alliance Ohio as well. My great grandfather's name was Victor Januar Cafaro and My grandmother was Maude. We relocated to Ft. Myers, FL during the 70's. Its cool to hear from you guys. Hope to talk soon!!

Hello from Canada, I have just got my family's records from Valvasone, (PN) Italia, I have a Vincenzo Cafaro, I do not have any dates for him but he married a Matilde Leschiutta on 18/09/1947 then moved to Di Cava Dei Tirreni.

I am new to this research and would like to find information concerning the Cafaro name. My great granparents are Vincenzo (1879) and Mary or Marsiglia (Consiglia, 1888), from Caggiano. There children were Nicholas, Perzulena, Norina, Dominic, Giuseppa, Vincenzo and Antoinette. My grandfather, Dominic, moved from Pittsburgh to Ashtabula in the 1940's.

I am looking for any information concerning these people, their parents or extended family. I am also very intersested in discovering if the Cafaro surname has a crest or coat of arms.

Hoping someone out there may be tracking the Pichichero surname. I have since 1995 and have amassed quite a bit.
The Pichichero surname seems to have many ties with the Cassano delle murge and Acquaviva delle fonti towns in Bari Italy.

Anyone tracking this surname or possibly knows of a family within their surroundings, anywhere in the world I would deeply appreciate hearing from you.

Hello.
The surname Cafaro comes up in my research of Family. However I am searching for the surname Pichichero.
Teresa Cafaro is my Great Grandmother. It appears most Cafaros were from Cassano delle murge, which is a town within Bari, Italy
Teresa Cafaro married Lorenzo Pichichero and had 7 Children.
Teresa was born in Cassano in 1824.

If you have searched back to this period then Teresa is a daughter of someone in your family.

Please let me know if you would like to further this correspondence.
I also live in Pa. in a town near Pittsburgh called Moon Twp.

It would be interesting to compare some findings.

Thank you for your answer.The only thing I can tell u is that my grand dad was from the Napoli area. My dad passed away 12 years ago and my mum 2 years ago, so it is also a little bit difficult to get any infos.I will try from my 2 brothers and the wife of my dad's brother (Mario ) . They are all living in France. I would like also very much to start building the G. tree.
I have been many times to italy but never to Napoli ! Maybe soon as i would like to travel by motorcycle from Napoli to Sicilia .
I have been living in Finland since 5 years, life is OK, safe quiet and boring !. but I am busy with my job , i am running a greeting card company.

Do you know what part of Italy he (your father) was (or is) from? Do you know of any relatives in Italy and have you ever gone to visit? Have you done any research into the Cafaro name? sorry for all the questions - I am having a hard time getting any information about My grandfather. My older family members have either passed away or are out of contact. I am working on getting back in touch with the few Cafaro's that I know are living, but there are 'soap opera' like issues in the family that I am going to have to work past.
I'm 38 years old; I moved from south Florida to Colorado when I was 29. My husband Rafael is Cuban; we have a 3 year old daughter Sofia. My time overseas is quite limited - I find life in finland so interesting. How is life for you there?
I am going to continue my genealogy work that I may write a more rounded autobiography - at least that is the current plan. If you like I can keep you informed of my progress...JP

we lived in north of france after his dad left italy because of Mussolini in the 20's , now i lived in Finland and have one son Nicolas and a daughter Marina

My father was Rudolfo (Rudolph) Cafaro, son of Vincenzo and Anna Cafaro of the Bronx,NY. (my grandfathers family was supposedly from Bari, Italy). My father had 3 brothers - Frank, Dominic and Anthony - and 1 sister Louise. They all lived in the Bronx or surrounding areas. I am having difficulty in my search; anything you can offer would be much appreciated.

My wife's father's family comes from Vietri di Potenza in the province of Potenza about 30 miles East of Salerno in a mountainous area of the Basilicata. Her father's mother's name was Antonia Cafaro (b 1893). For pictures of Vietri Click here: Vietri di Potenza (fotografie) There is also an Italian white pages on the web which will give you an idea of the towns in Potenza with the name Cafaro. I f you have a specific name /birth date I will look it up....The Mormons have extensive records at their Family History Libraries.....Good Luck

Anyone related to a Joseph Anthony Cafaro that worked as a, I'm trying to remember this correctly,boat Captain?
He has a son by the same name who is my Father-in-law.
The "old man" had a house in Nassau County,Long Island, at least I think that's where it was. Anyway, my wife's name is Donna Cafaro, she has siblings,Barbara,Debbie,Joey(deceased),Mark & Michael.

My monther's maiden name was Margaret Cafaro. Trying to locate where my Grandparents came from. My mom always told me Potenza; other relatives said Salerno. So I have to do some checking. Where do you live?

The head of AM Records is Al Cafaro. One of the largest shopping mall developers in the United States is in Youngstown,Ohio. He has been featured in Forbes magazine many times. He is JJ Cafaro. One of the designers of the Pontiac Fiero and the Chevrolet Corvette is John Cafaro and there is a big winery in NAPA, California named Cafaro Vineyards. We are all related somehow and based on the success of these folks, it was worth the trip from Italy. The American Dream!!!!

My Mother is a Cafaro. Her Father was a Cafaro and came over here from Salerno.His name was Emanuel and his wife was Catherin which were my grandparents.

I have just begun my search. My father emigrated here in 1920, his father was already here. My grandmother never came over, there were marital problems. She eventually married my grandfather's brother, name Umberto, and they had a daughter named Nina. My grandmother was Margherita. There could possibly be a connection. My grandfather settled in Wappingers Falls, NY (near Poughkeepsie) and had two more sons with his second wife, Joseph and Nicholas, (Joseph is deceased but Nick still lives in Wappingers Falls.

I have not checked with Church of Latter Day Saints - there is one in the next town to me and I will research it as soon as I get a chance. Thanks for your help.
