I'm also descended from John Caffey. I'm trying to find out where in Ireland Michael, his father, came from. All I have is Ulster. I'd love to know the county or city. Dublin is not in Ulster.

I'm Jan Caffey, a direct descendant of the John Caffey who fought with the Maryland Militia. I'm very interested in more info on the John Caffey who was born in Ulster in 1690. Do you know where in Ulster?

I'd love to know more. I'm going to Ireland next month!

His wife was Suffiah. she is from ireland as is he. not sure of her last name. she died about 1777. he had a son Michael. i havent found much on his wife. but his father is John O'Keefe who married Kate Marcell.

Hi,My info on Mary Hooper is that she was a kinsman of Bishop John Hooper and was not her father. He was a Bishop and was burned at the stake on 9 Feb 1555.

Hello I came acrossed a picture you submitted in June, 2009 Showing my maternal grandmother and her mother. My Grandmother Rosa Bell Gray, cared for me from about 1944 through about 1950, at which time she relocated back in Kansas to live with either of two of her eight daughters, namely Georgia Northern Petersen and/or My aunt Edna Fehr, ( she widowed and remarried )I can look up here previous last name, but don't have it at this writing. I was born to the youngest of the Gray girls, Neva, born in 1912 passed away in 1991. At age 76, I have begun a passionate interest in learning about my heritage, I did know my maternal grandfather, Henry Harry Gray tho he passed away in june of 1944 in East Peoria, Il. I see so many relatives listed I am starting to get confused!I would love to prove that there is native american in the family. Do you have any idea how we could go about discovering this?

Thomas is pictured in the yearbook of the 422nd Technical School Squadron at Amarillo Army Air Field in Amarillo, Texas. The 422nd produced mechanics and technicians to maintain the Flying Fortresses. I'm not kin but thought this might help someone researching family.

It's been awhile since you posted your William Caffey message, but here's hoping we can still exchange some info. My Caffey cousins, if they even exist, are also from Philadelphia and could possibly be the generation or two prior to your William. I have very little information, only that my cousin Margaret GANNON married a Joseph CAFFEY. He was the informant on her death certificate. Margaret (Gannon) CAFFEY appears to be born abt 1913 and died in 1972 and is buried in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery on Cheltenham Ave. in Philadelphia. She had a sister, Sarah Gannon, who also appears to have married a CAFFEY, and we're still looking for Sarah's husband's first name. Sarah is buried in the same plot with sister Margaret. Does this seem familiar? If so, I have additional Gannon info. stella33@verizon.net

Jess Coonce who died in Modesto, CA. was my grandmother's brother. I had been told he was my grandmother's only sibling. Her name was Grace Mae Coonce(Neasby). Their parents were Martha (Harris) and William A.Coonce.

In answer to your questions, his wife's name was Mary Hooper she too was born in Dublin, Ulster Province, Ireland about 1726. Her father was Bishop Hooper. This information can be found at the Alabama Department of Archives and History. Their grandson, John Caffey 1751-1826 a Revolutionary War Patriot, is my 5th great grandfather. His grandfather, Micheal was indeed a linen weaver. They migrated here to America before John's birth, first to New Jersey and eventually settling in Maryland.

My ggggrandfather, Charles was the brother of Henry. All i know of John was he was born about 1650 in Ireland and died in Ireland. I also am pretty sure he was a Linen Merchant. I do not know what his wifes name was. I have done some research, but haven't came up with anything else. I will let you know if i do.

My grandmother was a Caffey and I've been trying to trace her line, I have some information but not sure if what I have is all correct. But it seems to start with Micheal Caffey who's father was John from Ulster, Ireland. I haven't been able to find anything on John except that which was stated by Micheal that John stayed in Ireland. Any information that you might have will be very helpful.

I'm not sure if its the same, but my ggggggg grandfather was John Caffey from Ulster, Ireland. His son Michael was my gggggg grandfather. I have quite alot of info on them. How are you connected? Let me know, and if we are talking about same people, i would be happy to share what i know.

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond but I had some serious computer problems. I have a group picture of the Caffeys' in Texas about 1912. It has John and Rettie sitting in the front. Am wondering about the Caffey in Doylestown...I have an ancestor Jane Caffey who married Henry Nunemaker in Doylestown in 1836. They later moved to the area of Hopewell, Mercer NJ and on the census there they are living next to a Kinsey Tomlinson. I cant remember offhand if it was the 1850 or 1860 census...Jane died before 1860 but her husband and family was still in that area.

My g-grandmother was a Caffrey from County Mayo--the town being Kiltimagh. She had a sister Anne, but her father was John. It is possible that your Anne was a cousin. The family was still in Kiltimagh in the 1870s and in fact are still represented there.

Grace, b. 31 Dec 1826 in Lancaster, SC, d. 26 Jun 1902. She married Sherod Newton Parker, b. 22 Jul 1826, d.30 Apr 1865 (POW).

In Kissee Cemetery, In Laclede Co. MO along with a lot of Caffey's are the following people:
Richard Coonce (no dates), Martha E. Coonce Mar. 16, 1885-Apr. 29, 1914, Lucinda Coonce Montgomery, Magdaline Coonce Browning, Harrison Coonce, Marion Coonce, Anna Coonce, Baby Coonce, and Katherine Coonce. This cemetery was started by a person who was married to a Caffey who died and then she remarried a Kissee. If these are any of your people, please let me know. I am trying to connect all who could be related in the cemetery.

My gr-grandfather was also William A Coonce. My grandfather was #8 child, Jesse Andrew Coonce, lived in Jenks OK moved west in 1937 and eventually settled in Modesto CA. Married Lois Mattie Russell (have had almost no luck on the Russell side)
I am very new to this and have not found any info on Wms older brother James M dob 1848 or two younger siblings Mary F & Barbara Ellen. Would love any information that you can send me and happy to share any that I have.
