I believe we are second cousins because my grandfather was Leo Cafiero from Donaldsonville. His daughter, Lucille, was sister to your grandfather Herman and I grew up with your father Lee--please tell your parents hello for me.

I know that "Grandpa" was a great man and he died when Lee and I were 3 years old. Have you found out anything about Leo? I found immigration records from Ellis Island and he traveled to the US with his father in 1893 at the age of ten. I may have the year wrong and will have to check my copy. I would love to learn more and hope all is well with your family.

I miss your grandmother very much (Aunt Fannie). We didn't talk very often, but she would send me cook books and pecans every Christmas. She was a wonderful person, very loving and kind. I remember you and hope that you will recall meeting me.
