James Courtney Cage (25 Jun 1877-26 Feb 1922) was the son of John William Cage (1839-1889) and Clara Parks (1845-1931); and the grandson of Marcus Winchester Cage (1811-1853) and Martha B. Eckford (1820-aft. 1860).

He m1. Audrey L. Chreitzberg (6 Feb 1892-6 Oct 1925) and m2. Lade Erie Parker (20 Jun 1880-20 Apr 1910). The only child I know of was a daughter, Clara Courtney Cage, by his second wife.

The Wood Co. TX Cages were all descendants of Marcus Winchester Cage: sons John William, George Alphaeus, Francis E. and daughter Matilda Jane, who m. William Winchester Cox. (There was another son, Edward M., who died in infancy.)

Marcus was the son of William Cage, Jr. and Fannie Street of Tennessee, from the large family of Maj. William Cage Sr. of Sumner County. I have much information on this family, including the descendants of Marcus Winchester. Email me directly if you need more information
