This particular Benjamin Cage is shown as having been married twice in all the sources I have seen on the Internet (and in Moursund's "Blanco County Families'). These sources show 2 children with his first wife and 4 with his second wife. Recently I was doing the census workup and noticed that in 1900 his widow ("Nancy Elizabeth" "Nancy Beth" "Betha") indicated that she had given birth to 2 children and both were living. I went back and checked all the dates. His first wife is definitely the mother of only the first 2 children. This means that he had another wife between Mary Cayce Stewart and Betha Grier. Does anyone have any info on the missing wife? Or a DOD for Mary and/or DOBs of children that would make her parentage of the first four children feasible?
