My great grandfather was Ruben Cahal. He married Mary Beard, my great grandmother on my father's side. My grandmother, Myrtle, was one of his three children. Her two siblings, both boys, were Ross and Kelly. My grandmother married Leonard Shields Jackson. They had two sons, Jack Linden and Harry.

Do you happen to have anything on Peter Cahall, brn. 1770-80, married to Catherine(Molly) Robertson. Maybe his possible father Edward Cahall, brn. 1750 Ireland. Peter was brn. in VA and died in Lincoln, MO. he married Catherine in Pittsylvania Co, VA. I descend through their son Barny Cahall and Eleanor Hall.
All of this info. came off of roots-web with no verification. Maybe you can help.

Didn't find them in 1860, tho there was a T H Cahal in Davidson Co TN age 15. Might be Jr.

Howdy,
I was checking the board and thought, oh what the heck, I'll look for Cahal's. My grand father was Louis Jacob "Jake" Cahal and also lived in East Texas. According to my records, Ruben Giles was his youngest brother.

My maiden name was Cahall. My ancestors are from the Brown Co., Ohio area as well. Would love to hear from you and see what line you are from. I am from Solomon Cahall. I have a lot of data on the Cahall's going back to the 1700's.
