Hello, does anyone have this person in their family?

I have them, assuming it's male, living at 20 Vincent rd, Chigwell Walthamstow in 1914, according to the electoral role.

The only record I can find for a person of that name is a death in 1937 aged 75.

The household at that time was a contact for NOK for my Gfather, and was hoping someone might know of this family, or the house

Ann Cairney - Ireland & Scotland

I have just recently uncovered the maiden name of my gggg grandmother, Ann. She was originally Ann Cairney of Ireland, but I don't know the county. I am speculating on the birth year, but I would say around 1760's. She married James McManus, also of Ireland, and had my ggg Ann McManus Roper.

Ann McManus Roper married James, of Ireland and they eventually made it over to Scotland after 1846, the birth year of their daughter, Jane. I located Ann Roper's death cert in Paisley, Scotland. She died in 1884, 90 years of age.

Would anyone have any ideas on how I research her mother, Ann Cairney? Is it too early for Ireland records?

Wondering if anyone can help me.I'm trying to get back further on my stalk of the family tree, but I've become a bit stuck, probably due to the lack of info on the Irish connection. Back in July 1860 James Cairney (born 1842 in Ireland) married Isabella McGrory (sometimes known as Elizabeth). During the 1881 census his mother Jane stayed with them , who was born in Ireland in 1802. Who was she married to, and any ideas what part of Ireland she came from with her family in tow? I can't seem to get any further back than this !!

cairneys

Hi Frank,
Thanks for your offer but it seems my g-grandfather is nowhere to be found on the 1881 census. Details on his life at this time are quite sketchy! My only other guess would be that he was either in Ireland (the supposed birthplace of his father) or India. However, if you would like to try, this is the information I have extracted from his death certificate. He was born in Stirling Castle in 1878, but later he somehow ended up in Angus (sorry, not Aberdeen). His parents were Daniel and Mary (nee Moir) Cairney. Daniel was apparently a Sgt in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders and served in India, Mary was an Indian translator. I really need to order his birth certificate to give you any solid information but I haven't yet. The only other explanation could be that the information on his death certificate could be wrong. Tell me, are you descended from any Cairneys? Look forward to hearing from you.
Kristin
