Answer coming a little late... but for those of you looking for the place origin of the surname Coiro, it is Sant'Arsenio in the province of Salerno. (Half of my family are Coiros.)
That is one of a handful of last names particular to that town; to my knowledge, all Coiros are directly from or at least have roots in Sant'Arsenio.
