Hi Ralph,

My name is Ralph Anthony Pelusi. My ancestors were from Calabria and Sicily and my Great-Grandfather from Aidone, Sicily was named Antonio Calcagno born 06 Mar 1896 and his father was Paul or Paolo Calcagno born abt 1855. I understand that the area was small but Calcagno was also a common name. Because the area was small it is very likely we may be related, also Antonio settled in Pittsburgh, Pa. I look forward to your e-mail.

Respectfully,

Ralph Anthony Pelusi

I think he was born in Genoa, Italy and his father was born in Varazze. I saw an obituary for Julie Calcagno in 2010 but I can't find anything about Eugene. I saw someone had pictures but I don't know how to look at them. Hope to hear back!

I am trying to get information on Benjamin Calcagno who married Mimi Stefanelli. Mimi Stefanelli was born about 1897 in Newark, N. J., her parents were Casare Stefaneli and Giovannia Tirella. When and where Benjamin and Mimi married, dont know but must have been between 1915 / 1917. All I have on Benjamin Calcagno is 1920 and 1930 cenus. Benjamin Calcagno born about 1889 New York. Parents born in Italy. Liveing in Queens, N. Y. with wife Mimi. Childern , WILLIAM cALCAGNO BORN ABOUT 1918, Dorothy Calcagno born about 1921 and Howard Calcagno born about 1926. The childern all seem to be born in Queens, N.Y. as Benjamin and Mimi were on the 1920 and 1930 there. If there were other children then it was after 1930 cenus. Can anyone help me. Would like to know who Benjamin s parents were. When and where Ben and Mimi married, died. Thank you in advance. Miss Robin

I am a descendant of Fay Will's brother, Ira Lee. They also had a brother named Melville. I have a bit more information on her side (taking her family back to John Alden and Priscilla Mullins of the Mayflower). Let me know if you would like more info on Fay's family.

I recently found the name of my great great great grandmother as Violante Calcagno. I would like to know if anyone knows anything about her family.

Violante would have been born about 1830 probably in or around Varazze Italy. She married a Paolo Parodi and had 15 children! The children were born in Varazze, and of the ones I can get info on from the church, most were baptised in San Ambrogio's church. Here are the names and the birth years (yes, spanning about 28 yrs!)
Catterina (1864-1946)
Bartolomeo (1866-??)
Angela Maria (1868-1944)
Teresa (1870-1954)
Anna Maria (1871-1956)
Maria (1873- bef 1876)
Maria (1876- ??)
Pantaleo (1877-1953)
Geronima (1880-1892)
Agostino (1883-1964)
Domenico (1885-1976)
Vincenzo (1887-1963)
Giovanni Battista (1889-??)
Veronica (1890-??)
Geronima (1892-1974)

My Great Grandfather Vincenzo Calcagno(b.1876 - d.1959) was originally from Sicily or Italy. He immigrated to the USA through Chicago, IL and died in Cleveland, OH. In January 1930, Vincenzo, his wife Maria Salemi Calcagno (b.1883-d. 1072), and their children changed their surname to Maley. Supposedly their was an uncle that was deported back to Sicily for Raqueteering and this was the reason for the name change. Wondered if anyone had information about this family.

Thanks.
