A Book of Psalms owned by the Caldwell and Cathey families of NC and inherited by Elizabeth Dole's late mother Mary Cathey Hanford, and believed now to be in possession of the genealogical collection at the Rowan Co. Public Library, Salisbury, NC lists birth dates of all but one of the children of William Caldwell and Agnes Givens (Caldwell) who lived at the county line between Mecklenburg and Iredell Counties. Birth dates are in the 1770's and 80's. William Caldwell's dates are avabilable from list of tombstones. He died 4 Oct 1801 at the age of 59.
