YOUNGSTOWN, OH – David Alan Caldwell, 41, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center, surrounded by his mother and his three sisters.
David was born Feb. 12, 1971, in Youngstown, Ohio the son of Lorraine Diane Sandora and David A. Caldwell.
He was a 1989 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and attended Youngstown State University, prior to becoming a self employed painter. played football for Austintown Little Falcons and was a Boy Scout.
David was a member of St. Joseph Parish in Austintown, Ohio He enjoyed all sports. He also enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and spending time with his family, especially his seven nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his mother, Lorraine Diane Caldwell; three sisters, whom he deeply loved, Deborah Ann (John) Gomez of Canfield, Ohio, Diane Lynn (Atty. Brad) Bartels of Salem, Ohio and Denise Marie (Frank) Bartolec of Boardman, Ohio; and seven nieces and nephews, Mary N. and John D. Gomez, Gretchen J., Heidi L., and W. Bradley Bartels and Taylor M., and Frank A. Bartolec.
David was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Frances Zayac, and his beloved grandmother and best friend, Mary C. Sandora.
David was a caring and giving person who will continue to help others through his generosity of Organ Donation.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home, 3100 Canfield Road.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 10 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church on New Road in Austintown, OH.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
