I've read your replies in this thread with some interest and by responding hope to catch your attention. I am descended from a William Allen Cale b. Augusta co, VA in 1800. He had a brother named David Preston Cale. Both ended up in Edgar county, Illinois. I've never been able to connect these two with the other Cales of Augusta co., VA. Any chance that you recognize the names? Do you have your Joseph Cale's parents? Another name that connects with my line is Baylor. Polly Baylor, widow of Robert Roberts, daughter of Jacob Baylor married my William Allen Cale. Thanks.
