Harries daughter Mabel married Francis Klugh. Their daughter Edna is my mother.

John Walker, Calgary Alberta

Callin family Montana & California

My uncle, Harold Davis, was born 1902 Old Fort, NC. and died in 1933 California. I never knew Harold's wife's name, but knew he had a daughter, Lois Jean. Recently I found Mary Callin, wife of Harold R. Davis with two daughters...one daughter was listed as Lois Jean Davis. I believe Mary Callin was my uncle's wife. I have pictures of Lois Jean and her sister on horseback in Montana also the inheritance checks dated 1946 from their grandfather's Davis' estate. Can anyone help me with information on Harold and Mary Callin Davis. Mary Callin was born 1902 Isle of Man and died 1947 San Francisco, CA. I really believe this is my uncle's family. The inheritance checks were cashed in San Francisco.
I am a granddaughter of A.B. Callin and Elizabeth McNeelands, and great grandaughter of Joseph David Callin and Elizabeth Curtis.
I notice that you refer to him as David Joseph. However, I have his bible given to him in 1824 and he is referred to as Joseph. As well I have other data referring to him as J.D.Callin.
I would love to learn more about these relatives, as I know very little.
I can be reached at boylek@alphalink.com.au
Regards, Kathy Boyle

Kathy,
Thanks for the response, I do think there is a connection. Did your grandmother have a younger brother James who was born in 1856 and died in 1891 in Russell? James was married to Mary Ellen Brooks, born 1849 in Ireland and also died in Russell in 1905.
FYI, I was born in Russell.
Try to respond directly to my email account at eldonpifko@gmail.com if this seems to be a connection. I have much more information on descendants but very little on ancestors to these folks.
Cheers.
Eldon

Came across this thread by accident. My grandfather was Alexander Callin, and grandmother, Elizabeth McNeelands. They were both from Easthope Twp. in Ontario, but lived in Russell, Manitoba, where my mother, Hazel Irene was born, the youngest of their children.
I don't know anything about their lives or families in Ontario. Would love to hear if these are from the same family as yours.
Kathy

Hi Eldon
I just came across this thread by accident, and I think that we are related.
My grandfather was Alexander Callin,(1852) and my grandmother, Elizabeth McNeelands,(1857) both born in Ontario. The lived in Russell, Manitoba. I know next to nothing about their lives, before moving west.
Would these people be related to your family?
Love to hear from you.
Kathy

Hi, I am looking in the history of McNeelands and Brooks which you had indicated possibly having some information about. I am a descendant of this line and am attempting to trace roots back to Ireland. I also sent an email to lacroixdani@hotmail.com but it bounced back indicating the address is no longer applicable. Do you have any contact info re this connection?
Can you please drop me a note and advise. Many thanks. My email is eldonpifko@gmail.com.
Cheers,
Eldon
