I finally got around to viewing some of these posts again. Yes, Calvillo was her maiden name...she ended up in Illinois, was married to a Leo Zermeno and she died during te depression, but not sure how accurate this is....she also could have been Jewish ancestry who ended up in Leon..there was apparently the largest Jewish polish community in Leon

Tu bisabuelo Don Antonio es cierto fue hermano de mi abuelo Celso, mi papá lo conoció muy bien, y por cierto yo qué tiempo hará? más o menos unos 15 años desayuné con un primo de mi papá que supongo que es tu abuelo Don Sergio Calvillo, hijo del tío Antonio, si está en este mundo salúdanoslo mucho.
Fijate que ando haciendo una investigación genealógica y si te platico mi bisabuelo y tu tatarabuelo fue Celso M Calvillo Cortés n. en 1876 (papa Celso sin acento) y Josefa Tapia (mama Pepa sin acento)su papá de Papa Celso fue también Celso Calvillo casado con María Dolores Cortés. En resumen hubo 3 Celsos Calvillos primogenitos de 1896 que nació mi abuela para atrás....

Hello, all my dads family was born and raised in Palo alto Aguascalientes but after moved on to Calvillo and built up there homes there. Now I have so many cousins and nieces and nephews there I love Calvillo. My grandparents live there. Their names are Maria de Jesus Hernandez they call her Doña Chuy and my abuelito Ismael Garcia. I live in Los Angeles California but my dad took us to Calvillo ever since we were little to visit :) but hey my cousins dad last name is RAMIRO GANDARA & I have an understanding he has another daughter living somewhere in the US! Maybe its the same GANDARA you are talking about?? I'm actually going to Calvillo in SEPT to visit and I can ask for more info :) hope y'all find your loved ones.

Hi Im looking for any information regarding any family with the calvillo last name in the matamoros,tamaulipas area. I dont know much about my dad's father family and I would love to know my ancestors and history. I dont know his name I believe he is originally from Guadalajara and at one point drove commercial buses within the Mexico. I'm not sure whether he was married to my grandma but her name is Guadalupe Caballero originally cantu i believe. Any info will be great. I've always been curious as to where we first came from. I've read that originally Calvillo's were from Spain so that is awesome.

How old is your dad? My parents are also from Calvillo, Ags and they were raised a few blocks from 20 de Noviembre St. My uncle still lives there too. Maybe my parents know your dad. My parents are in their 50's

My father passed 10yrs ago he would have been 82yrs old. His Father was Canuto Calvillo from Leon GTO. his father came to US via brownsville TX April 7, 1928 he was married to Ignacia Rivera Calvillo from Leon GTO. Hello Calvillo's, I am not Calvillo as far as i know, but back in 1665 el sagrario,aguascalientes a ignacio calvillo along with a martin de ursua were testigos fo my ancestor juan macias and beatriz lopez's marriage. can you or anyone elseshare some info of any type concerening theses parties? thank you. I have Zaragoza decsendants from Guadalajara and Villa Corona. I know most of them came to US in 1926 and settled in the San Francisco Bay Area. Not sure if My Zaragoza's are a connection to yours?

How interesting. My wife's maiden name was Calvillo and her mother's Castano. Neither surname is that common, even though Castano is a color! And there is a family history of philandering, LOL. Despite all this, I haven't yet found a connection. Wife's Calvillo's trace to Guanajato and San Luis Potosi, Mexico all the way to Abraham Calvillo and Octaviana Cardenas. Hello Calvillo's from Laredo, Texas. My name is Robert Calvillo and I currently live in Manassas, VA. I am trying to find more information on the family name Calvillo then what my dad had told me. My dad (Luis R. Calvillo) was born in Laredo around 1935 and I believe lived there for about 5-10 years. Don't quote me on that dad didn't mention too much about that. My Grandma (first name Olga) lived there just before my dad was born until; like I mentioned earlier, 5-10 years I think. My dad did mention that my Grandma Olga was married but was divorced later on after she caught him cheating with "the maid". She ended up remarrying a man whom I have only known as my Grandpa Julio Castano. My Grandma's maiden name was de la Madrid and dad told me we do come from Spain and he was 2nd generation. He did briefly mention about his aunt Tamalia. That's about all I know about the family; which isn't much but if you have any "ties" or other information that would be great. I live in the South Padre Island area and my mothers last name was Calvillo. What I understand is that my granfather Wenseslao Calvillo came from Seville, Spain to Aguascalientes then to Cd Juarez. He married Juana Bustillos in Cd Juarez and had 5 children. 3 female 1 male. My grandfather died in a car accident near Ft Hancock Tx.

Hi, my mother and I have been trying to trace our family back and we've only made it 3 generation back...I think. Anyway, her grandfather's name was Marcos Calvillo and he was from Tamaulipas, Mexico and was born in 1880. We're not sure where in Tamaulipas, Mexico. His wife was Adeliade (Garza) their kids were Guadelupe, Juan, Ignacio, Josephine, Clemencia, Leonardo, Jesse, Marcus, Tommy,Margaret. I think that's all of them. Hope that helps

MY Great-Great Grandfather came from Spain and his name was Francisco Calvillo, which later on he establish in Leon Guanajuato....hope this helps you out...

I have a Rafaela Calvillo in my family that I'm trying to track down. Is Calvillo her maiden name?

If so, this Rafaela was born in 1900 in Union de San Antonio, Jalisco, Mexico. She would have had five siblings; Cecilia born 1891, Jesus born 1893 (my grandfather), Aurora born 1894, Agripina born 1896, Teodoro born 1899, and finally, your grandmother.

I know Union de San Antonio Jalisco doesn't sound like we're related, but when I talk to my mother she always says she is grew up in Leon, Guanajuato. I guess the states of Jalisco and Guanajuato are next to one another.

On the other hand, Calvillo is a very common name in Jalisco, and I guess there's even a town named Rancho del Calvillos.

all I know is that our Calvillo lastname origins is coming from Italy and Spain.
Would be a good idea that all calvillos be in touch because

Barry, my name is Robert Calvillo and I am currently trying to find more on the Calvillo name. I have a coat of arms for Calvillo and my dad Luis R Calvillo used to tell me that my dad's family came from Spain. I am retired Navy and was stationed in Rota Spain where there were "tons" of Calvillo's there. I tried to find ties but in most Spanish names the sibling also kept the name of the family when they married along with their married names, hence a lot of Spaniards with many names. Unfortunately my dad never told me about the rest of the "surnames" so the only link I have is Calvillo and my Grandma's maiden name "de La Madrid". Dad said we came from Northern Spain. Clement Calvillo, Pedro Calvillo, Chic (Pete) Calvillo, Gilbert Calvillo, and myself Vincent Calvillo. We are all have worked in the produce industry for over 100 years.

My Grandfather name is Polecatdo G. Calvillo and Grandmother's name is Rafaela Calvillo they came from Mexico along time ago they are gone now and my father name is Igancio G. Calvillo he is also gone now all of my family on my dad side live in south Texas my mother always told us that our grandfather had a lot of land in Mexico but I don't really know I do know that there is a town in Mexico name'd Calvillo but I don't know if my grandfather had anything to do with this town my great-great grandmother was from Spain and that all I know if you know anything e-mail me .

There is only one line of Calvillos in the city of Calvillo Aguascalientes. I was in grade school with some of them back in the late 1970s, the only one I remember is this one girl whose name was Veronica Calvillo.

They were really tight with the church in the City, they were all altar boys/girls. I remember that Veronica's older brother was the top altar boy at the time and he would ring the church bells to call people to mass. He went by the nickname of "Chino" but I can't remember anything else about him.

I would start by getting in touch with the church so that you can get some real good leads. There are a couple of churches, in town, the one they were involved with is known as the church of "El Senor Del Salitre" which is the main church in town and is right in the downtown area.

Did Frank die of a car accident? My name WAS Josephine Perez Calvillo. My fathers name Frank Calvillo , his mother Josephine Gallegos, my mother Demetria Perez she was from Kanopolis Kansas.Both are deceased.
