South Fork--Lake Hotel

Anyone know about "Lake Hotel" in South Fork circa 1893, proprietor's last name was Pringle? My great-uncle, William W. Lloyd was a boarder there when he got both legs cut off in train accident in Loyalhanna, Sept 1893.

Cosmo Cambria from New York (as late as 1920) moved to St. Louis and married Catherine ca 1923. They had a daughter, Joan M., in 1927. They were living in St. Louis in 1930.

Nothing known after that.

Correction, it's Stellario Cambria and apparently he was a relatively famous musician.

Hi,

I've got a Zappala cousin marrying a Stellano Cambria (it would make more sense if it were Stefano, but I'm pretty sure it's Stellano) around 1897 and having John, Theresa, and Cosmo.

Don't know what happened after that.

Names sound familiar to anyone?

Toder Falls tunnel?

My great grandfather, William Swallow, was in Pennsylvania for a time in 1909-1910 (he lived in Colorado) working on the Quemahoning dam and the Toder Falls tunnel, for John Karns, also of Colorado, who had invented a drill for hard rock mining.

Anyone ever hear of Toder Falls? He writes that it was near Johnstown.

Any information appreciated.

My grandmother was a CAMBRIA and she came to NY in 1890 from Sicily with a 7 yr. old boy whose name was Frank CAMBRIA and also a 33 year old named Francesco Paolo CAMBRIA. I believe these were my gmother's brother and his son. The younger Frank CAMBRIA married and had a daughter Claudia who married a Gabriel A. COVO. my husband's (Fred Covo) maternal grandfather
was Frank Cambria. They lived in Chicago during a period in the 30's I think.
Fred's mother and Aunt live in New York.
I know Frank was raised mostly in New york also. Maybe together we can find out more.

I am looking for information ref Carmelo/Francesco/Frank Cambria. My brother George remembers visiting a Concetta in the Yonkers area. He recalls my father (Carmelo) saying Concetta was his cousin. Not sure if this is the same person. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

My name is Vincent Cambria. I am the grandson of Carmelo Cambria. My grandfather was born on 6/17/1865 in Barcellone Pozzo di Gotto, Sicily. He was the uncle of Frank Cambria who was married to Sophie Schroder. They had 2 children, Sophie and Claudia. We recently learned of Sophie's death last November.
Claudia is married to G A Covo.
We would be very interested in exchanging information about our family, but in recent communications with G. A. Covo he advised me that he did not want to participate.
