Best I'm finding is my last name Camel was Chemelmacher but I can't find anyone with that last name besides my one relative. I've seen Kemelmacher though. I know they were from Romania and were Jewish.

Hi, everyone!

My name is Vincent Davis and I am an African American male doing some research of my mother's paternal side of my family tree, which consists of the Camel(or Campbell) and Sutton families of Brownsville, Tennessee.

So far my research has turned up the following:

Ben Charles Camel(my grandfather) was married to Sweetie Bracey. His parents were Ernest Camel and Beatrice Sutton. He was from Brownsville, Tennessee, and it is very possible that our family name Camel was a derivative of the frequently misspelled surname Campbell.

If anyone could help and possibly answer some questions for me it will be greatly appreciated!

I look forward to the correspondence and possibly learning about distant family members.

My grandmother, Bertha Baswell, was born in St. Clair Co., AL, in 1902. Her parents were Edward Asbury Baswell and Leola Camel Baswell. Leola died when my grandmother was 5 months old. She never knew anything about her mother's side of the family. I have been trying to connect Leola with a Camel family in Alabama for over 10 years now. She would have been born around 1879. My grandmother thinks that she had a brother named John and a sister, Lena. If anyone knows of this family, please contact me.

i am looking for info for a friend whose mother was a opal delilah baswell. her father is edward a. baswell, who was probably the second wife of your grandmothers father. My friend is delores miller (hamilton). Edward's father was harrison baswell. We do not know the name of her grandmother, except that it was maybe a last name of henderson. her mother had 2 brothers; herman benjamin baswell, bribon e. baswell.

Looking for the parents of James Camel married to Cloe???.
James and Cloe are on the 1860 Chickasaw County, MS census. Their children are Martha, John, James, Will, Mary, Nancy and Charles. James was born in SC, Cloe in TN, Martha and John in Ala, and the other children in MS. Martha Camel married A B Snider in Pontotoc Co, MS in 1866. If anyone has any information on James Camel and Cloe ??, please let me know. Thank you for your time and trouble.

Great great grandmother born in 1856 Dancloud/Derryland, Armagh, Ireland. I am looking for information on her parents: George Camel and Mary Dart/Fox. Apparently she had a brother, possibly James, who was hung for smuggling. George is believed to have been a fisherman.

I just found your email query on Ancestry.com. I am a descendant of John Peach. He was born in 1805 in Fayette County, Pa. Mary Peach Cady Bohanna was one of 9 children who belonged to John and Jane Camel (?) Peach. I only received information on Mary Peach - James Cady last month. The information was in regard to Civil War pension papers filed by MAry Peach. I would like to exchange information on the Peaches with you. I have a lot of info.

Looking for information on Catherine Camel born c 1440 in Shapwick Dorset England to John & Isabella Camel. Catherine was first married to Renaud Lempiere in Jersey Channel Islands and after his death to Edmond Weston of Boston Lincolnshire.
Lady Catherine Camel is the mother of Sir Richard Weston.
She is also a XXGrandmother to Lady Diana Spencer and the princes William & Harry.
Is anyone researching this family or have any information?

Camel in AL or TN

Looking for more information on Abner Mann who married Elizabeth Camel. I find him in Shelby Co., AL with his first wife in the 1820 and 1830 census. He and his 1st wife sold land there 15 Nov 1827. A short time after this she apparently died and he remarried to Elizabeth. The census says that Elizabeth was born in TN. Data that was handed down to me says that he married her in TN in 1831. There are 2 Camell households listed in the 1830 Shelby census.

I next find Abner in the 1850 Itawamba Co., MS cenus with wife Elizabeth and children. I haven't found him in 1840 in MS or AL.

I'm sorry, Because I truly know how you feel when I get a message about my family too. My heart start racing and everything.

I thought I saw in census record that stated Camel's in AL. I am not related to Lee Allen Camel. At least I don't think so. My mother had a copy of her birth certificate and her mother maiden name is Camel.

I don't have any info about your family but I was wondering have you ever came across any Camel's in AL specifically around Pike Cty or Troy,AL?

I need information on Lee Allen Camel, born in 1925 in New Jersey or Alabama. His parents lived in Elizabeth, NJ in 1940's. Lee lived in New Orleans in the 1950's and West Texas until his death in 1965.

Hi...I am also looking for information about Jane Camel (1808-1878) who was married to John Peach. I am related through their oldest child Mary (1830-1874). I believe from census reports that Jane was born in Ireland. She died in Baldwin Twp. Allegheny County in July 1878. I'd like to know more.

I don't know if there is a connection, but, My great grandfather was named Albert Camel Harmon. It is an unusual name, and I thought it might m=be his mothers maiden name. He was born in 1850 in Pennsylvannia and then traveled to Kansas, then to Jacksonville, Ill. He married Cora Elizabeth Tefft. They had 4 children

I was just wondering what nationality everybody is? I am related to the "Kamel's" with a "K", and I am Arab. But I have heard through the years that some of our relatives changed the spelling to "Camel" with a "C".
