My Great Grandfather was Michele (Mike, Mickele... spelling changed a lot) Camino and married my great Grandmother Pasqualena (Pasquala, Lena... spelling changed a lot)Buoscio in America. They were both came from Italy and came to America in the late 1800s.

My grandfather (their oldest son), Henry, said that one of them was from the Napoli area and one was from the Campobasso area. But I was so young when he told me, that I can't remember which. And my father doesn't remember either.

One of the travel records for Michele Camino had origin with a long word that after looking at "pietracapella Campobasso" that makes complete sense. Maybe Salvatore and Michele were related.

I have grandfather of same name who came to us from Italy (Abruzzo) in 1899. Not sure of his siblings.He was born in Jan. 1883 and died in march 1968 in Chicago.

I am a Camino aka Caminos from Hawaii. My grandfather lived in Balamban Cebu and left there in 1920's for Hawaii. It is family knowledge that our surname came from Spain. Perhaps from Asturias, Spain. I am not familiar with Spain and am very interested in finding all of the Camino aka Caminos. We all may somehow be related. I can be reached via email

Hi there,

This is a common last name in the so-called Spanish Basque country. Some branches sailed to Cuba, Central America, and the States, but those who settled in the Southern Cone of South America came mostly from Spain in the late nineteenth-century, although there are some few from from Southern France too. Check the web!

Searching for the siblings of my ggrandmother. Originally from Asturias Spain at least 3 of the daughters went to Cuba to live; Valentina (died in cuba 1919) , Elvria & Candelaria Camino. The others we are not sure if the stayed in Spain or went to Cuba; they were Celsa, Higninio, Jose & Herminio.

I, too, am looking formy roots. I was told that my forefathers hailed from Balangiga, Samar. They escaped the massacre perpetrated by the Americans against the native rebels and settled in Bicol, particularly in Camarines Norte

Hi, I'm from Melbourne Australia. Both my parents are from Petrella Tifernina. My father is a Tamburrelli and my mother is a Camino.
Her father's name is Giuseppe Camino. I know he had three brother's Antonio, Alesandro and Angelo.
Either Antonio or Angelo went to America - I'm not sure who or when.
