Your William was definitely the son of Robert and Anna Camp of Belmont and Guernsey Co., Oh. who had come there around 1815 from Loudoun Co., Va. In 1839 there is a deed in Guernsey Co where William Camp is deeded land by Anna Camp. Also, his sister and her husband, William Stevens, deeded William land also. (Deed Books N, p. 131,132) Obviously Robert Camp had died prior to this date, but I have no exact date. Robert Camp may have lived in Maryland prior to Virginia, because his daughter Elizabeth always claimed Maryland as her place of birth and see seem to be one of the oldest children. I am interested in the given name you give to William's wife Rachel--Sprawles. What is the source? I have not found their marriage record. There were families name Sprowl, etc., in that part of Ohio.
