Hello Scott,
Apologies for the delay in responding to your very kind post. I only found it today, by accident! Don't know where my notification of a waiting reply disappeared to!
Thank you very much for taking the time to write and tell me about your Simpson/Campbell connections. Very interesting indeed. I shall be at PRONI tomorrow and will take another look at the Aghaloo records, using the Simpson surname as a fresh lead. Sometime when one can't move forward the only thing to do is to try and go sideways at a problem! [grin]
My great-great-grandmother, Ann Campbell (later Mrs John Mercer), may have had a brother named Charles Campbell. James Campbell is another person who may or may not be associated with Ann - possibly either her father or another brother? Also a Phoebe Campbell - spelt "Pheby" in the records. I wonder if you came across any of these names in your searches?
I hope you had enjoyable time over here in Northern Ireland and made some progress in your research. Thanks again for writing to me. With best wishes.
Ann Allen
