I have a well researched Worden Family Tree. My great great grandparents were Charles Bingham Worden (1818-1898) who was married to Lestina D. Orvis.
Lestina's mother was Direxy C. Campbell who had been married to Simeon Victor Orvis, which the Orvis family tree is well researched.
Direxy C. Campbells parents are James Campbell and Hannah Whitney and again the Whitney family has been well researched.
Problem here is that when Direxy C. Campbells parentage is mentioned there is no information on her father James Campbell except for b. Abt 1781 d. Canada along with a of quote "James Campbell known as Judge Campbell, lived in St. Regis, New York, but died in Canada at the home of a daughter. He is said to have been a descendant of the Duke of Argyle, Scotland"
Direxy Campbell was born 1809 in Brookline, Windham Co., Vermont.
Her mother Hannah (Whitney) Campbell remarried to Josephus Orvis 1-1-1821, there is no mention of divorce...assumed widowed.
There is no mention that Direxy Campbell had siblings, had always assumed only child.
From researching there is a James Campbell in St. Regis, Franklin Co., New York that was born abt 1784 and lived 99 years to die in 1883, died in Cornwall Ontario at his daughter's home, name not given.
He apparently arrived in Fort Covington in 1808 and was prominent figure in the town. Served in the War of 1812. Had been associate judge, sheriff, presidential elector member of the assembly.
I would love if someone could give me some insight on this family whether there might be or connection or not.
