Actually Ada, the death listing stated wife of D Campbell only but Andrew Morrison is listed as living next to Duncan in the 1860 census and seems both had been chain carriers together on a deed. We know that the death certificate of one of the younger boys had listed Ann Morris as mother but there is a possiblity that the brother giving the info, who was from Sarah Arnold, didn't know for sure the correct name of Duncan's first wife. Or for all we know, he could have had another wife in there before Sarah....no marriage records back then left. The thing that makes me wonder is that the younger boys went to KY after Duncan died in 1870's after his last listing in the census. Why? Did they have relatives there or was it through Sarah's connection to someone there? I know one of them married there. We can't seem to locate Sarah or the younger kids in the 1880 census anywhere.

Ada,
Just discovered with a little help from some friends that Duncan's first wife was actually a Jane Morrison, not Coble. Duncan was apparently living next door to his In-Laws in 1840 and 1850. An article was found in the Nashville Christian list of deaths and the daughter of Andrew Morrison Jane was listed as dead as of April 1850, the wife of Duncan Campbell. You can contact me for more info which led to this discovery...I know your Harriet was his daughter.
Linda at lindaorourke0015@yahoo.com

Just remember that Ancestry does not test all the same markers that Family Tree DNA does so it makes it hard to compare them. You will have to convert using a formula FTDNA provides. I have done both and like the FTDNA better.

Like I said, I'm in Middlebrook Mo. Between my husband and I we have 6 kids. Anyway, I know this is a long shot but I hope for whatever reason you receive these replies. I would love to meet my long lost cuz!(again) And, again, if you have any knew information I would greatly appreciate it. I'll do the same for you. I slowly have started a Campbell Family Tree on here but it is moving slowly. Anyway I'm not too familiar with the site yet but I think you can get my e-mail off of here. So get in touch if you'd like.

I think you're my cousin. Keith is my uncle and Charles and Anita of DeSoto are my grandparents. My name is Angel. My father, Gary Campbell, is Keiths brother. I'm finding this 9 years later so I hope by this time you have found your dad. I have lost touch with all family as well. I currently reside in Middlebrook, Mo with my husband Darren. But what I know is Keith and Mary Jo are still in Kentucky and g-ma and g-pa live in Texas. They were traveling the country after retirement but then I heard g-pa had some heart problems so they stopped traveling and set home in, I think, Pharr Texas. I am also searching for g-ma and g-pa and my brother Allen Christopher. If you reach anyone please let me know and I will do the same for you. I hope all is well with you and hope to hear from you soon.

Actually, the tombstone that states he was born and died in Jackson Parish is incorrect. There was no Jackson Parish when he was born (it was still Natchitoches/Ouachita) and yes, he was from Sikes, LA, which is in Winn Parish.

William Hugh Campbell's mother was Sarah Campbell, as per the 1850 Census. There was a William Campbell in the 1840 Census for Natchitoches Parish, but I can't tie him to Sarah Campbell in 1850. That's where I got stuck! Now, I do have "rumored" not proven information that brothers, John Campbell and William Campbell, settled in Winn and Caldwell parishes around 1830-1840, which would put the timeline right. Also, there is a connection to an Adam Barnes, Jr. for Sarah's father but I cannot confirm that either. If you look in the census, there is a J. Barnes who was in the same CSA company with William Hugh Campbell, aka as Huey or Hugh Campbell, my gg grandfather.

Sarah Campbell
William Hugh Campbell & Rebecca Ann Smith Campbell
Wiley Adam Campbell & Pearl Robinson Campbell
William Homer Campbell & Nettie Marie Dison Campbell
*my parents* then me! :)

If you'll email me at kimcox1@att.net, I'll send you the gedcom file with the Campbell line that I have been able to confirm.

I'm excited that someone else has joined my quest for William Hugh's father! Good luck to us both! lol!

Kim

I have traced the family from myself to him but then I can't figure out who his father is. I know that all of the my family in the Campbell line has been from Sikes, Louisiana. However William was from Jackson Parish. Could you provide any information you have. My Grandfather was Andrew Eldridge, his father - Ira Andrew, his father - Andrew B., and his father, William Hugh.

Re: Looking For Frank Campbell (New Orleans or Los Angeles CA)

No, you can't get access to birth records, especially recent ones. At this site http://www.zabasearch.com/
there are 285 Craig Campbell's listed in CA, some indicate a birthyear, but not all of them do. There's not much of an easy way to find him. The simplest is to post a message on the board Lost Family and Friends. some people there have access to high school reunion names, but he seems kind of young to be on those lists yet. Still it doesn't cost anything to try. You could also post on the county message board (was in Los Angles county?, I forgot). Every county in a state has it's own message board also.

Aside from that, it would probably be cheapest to see about running an ad in the paper where you think he lives, in the Personal category. You may want to consider getting a PO Box to list in the ad to protect yourself from pranks. The only other thing I can think of is to contact most of the 285 Craig Campbell names on the web site I just posted, either by mail or phone, and that would be pricey, time-consuming and may not even yield any results.

Just to clarify, if you and Craig share the same dad, then he would be your half-brother.

I admire your diligence in your search. New data bases come on-line all the time, so don't give up. And you may get lucky and find that Craig is also looking. Which reminds me, have you tried searching web sites such as Face Book? I've heard that some people have found relatives there.

Good luck,
Marie

You should be able to locate the information at the web link I posted. But yes, the only thing I left out of it was his ss#, preferring not to post it. Because you're having trouble finding it, it is 569 58 9411. Rootsweb.com offers a form letter you can print out to send to the Social Security Dept to request a copy of his application, which he would have filled out, and should include his father's name and his mom's, including her maiden name, and his place of birth. The number was issued to him in California, so he must have lived there for some time.

Bieliauskite,

Again thank you so much for your help... I was able to track down Franks long time girlfriend, but she could not remember anything about his family , But she did say his son Craig Campbell (my step brother) should be in that area.....I also filled and mailed off for a copy of Franks SSN app. So that should be able to help me we finding his side of the family when I get that email to me......

How can I go about tracking him dowm.....He's is going to be about 30-36 years old.....born some where in the Los angeles area , And Frank Name should be on his birth cert. as the father.. So I guess my new search is for Craig Campbell... IS there a way to look up birth cert from that time frame with Frank campbell as the dad.......?

Carleton
