William Campoli, 88, of Jefferson Hills, passed away Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010 at his home. Born Dec. 2, 1922, in Blythedale, he was a son of the late John and Marie (Peroti) Campoli. William was the former proprietor of the Bel Air Furniture Store in Clairton and was a sergeant in the Army during World War II, a recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart, and was wounded during the Battle of the Bulge on Christmas Day of 1944. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (DeFlavis) Campoli; his sons, William J. Campoli, of Charlotte, N.C., and Larry (Dara) Campoli, of Cranberry; four grandchildren, Chase, Danielle, Max and Jake Campoli; brother, Walter Campoli, of McKeesport; and also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday in the A.J. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 555 Fifth St., Clairton, PA 15025, with the Rev. Jude Urso officiating. Procession and burial to follow to St. Clare Cemetery in Clairton.
