Hi

Violet Rushlow is part of my family. They used to live on Haig Road in Belleville Ontario Canada when I was young. We would visit them when we visited my fathers cousin Alex Rushlow and his wife Edith, who lived on the same property as Violet and Rocco. If i'm not mistaken, Rocco changed his last name to Campbell?

If you have specific questions, let me know and maybe I have the information you are looking for. I am looking for more information on Violets father, who was Alexander Rushlow married to Marth Kaiser.

Hi. I am Thomas Richard Sebastian Compoli (our last name got changed from an A to O when my Grampa immigrated to Canada in 1948? He was Sebastiano Joseph Campoli (father Orlando, mother Annunziata). His brother is Bruno Campoli I may have found him on FB but I don't speak Italian but he is from Veroli. Sebastian came to Canada to Ontario to work on his cousins (Decarolis- all 3 of his aunts married into this family) farms.

I'd love to find out some info as my Grampa died before I was born and I never got a chance to inherit any Italian culture or heritage.

Hi yes my grandfather was Louis Campbell my mother is Margaret and I remember your father and your grandfather Rocco used to visit at nursing home before he passed when I was little. I go to visit the cemetery usually November 11 for grandpa. It's nice to know I want more history about them talk to u later Cherie
My mom would be your cousin her brother Vince he passed away last year
And I have 3 sisters and a brother so many relatives

Hi, I remember your dad he was a younger Louie lol I remember at grandpas funeral my aunt took a second look when your dad showed up she thought she was seeing double. My mom is Margaret I think she went to your dads funeral around Colburg area. Anyways if u have any thing u know about their life let me know . Hi John:
I saw you wrote to my brother Gary Dent. You and I are first cousins as your dad was my Uncle. I remember him coming to visit us in Redmond, Oregon many years ago. By coincidence during his stay the movie "Battle of the Bulge" was on TV. He said the movie brought back many memories of the battle in particular how miserably cold it was. Also remembered being surrounded by Germans and down to only a few rounds of ammunition. I know your dad was in the 101st Airborne Divsion. Do you know specifically what unit he was with. I would be interested in talking with you if possible.

My grandfather was Don (born Dominick) we live in/near Albany,NY, His father was Alexander he was born in Rocca Gorga (passed away in the early 70's), I am told it is near latina(Italy) in the mountains south of Rome (you can see pictures online) anyhow my great grandfather's parents died and all the sons were adopted out to different families..but kept their birth name. I know there are relatives in "the Rock" we are in albany, there are other Campoli's in Clifton Park and Waterford are (who are not closely related to us)....I'm sorry I don't think I have anyone to ask now.....Don

Hi...I am Magen Campoli, daughter of Jeff and Rosanne Campoli. Mildred and Placid are my grandparents. I live in Pennsylvania and have 3 boys. Dustin Campoli is 12. Paris is 10 and Spencer is 3. I also have a brother Jeffrey H Campoli. My parents live in Mississippi.

Filomena Campoli Turriziani Grosso - b. 6 Feb 1875

My Great-grandmother Filomena Campoli Turriziani Grosso
- came across on the SS Victoria with her children Giacinta (aka George) and Loreta Currisciani aka Torziano in 1903. The ships record shows Frosione as her hometown.
- Google tells me that Turriziani is a common name near Frosione, and I believe the ships clerk spelled it phonetically without confirmation.
- Her husband Vincenzo came to the U.S. a year or two before Philomena
- Vincenzo was killed by a train in 1904, several months before the birth of Albert.
- Philomena married Leonardo Grasso between 1904 and 1908.
- Their children were Catherine, Joseph, Antonnette (my grandmother), John, Maria, Rose and Louis, all born between 1909 and 1920. In various records their names are in either Italian or Americanized versions.
- The family was centered in Newark until the 1940's, then spread out.
- There is a Grosso family in the Bronx with many of the same names, we don't appear to be related.
- My grandmothers younger sister Rose was part of the Catena family, the car dealers near Toms River.

If any of this matches your information, please contact me. There are enough cousins that I think I'll be able to fill in the blanks for the US, but have found zero information prior to Philomena landing in 1903. Could be that all of us interested in Campoli's are related a few hundred years back, so good luck, cousins.

William Campoli, 88, of Jefferson Hills, passed away Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010 at his home. Born Dec. 2, 1922, in Blythedale, he was a son of the late John and Marie (Peroti) Campoli. William was the former proprietor of the Bel Air Furniture Store in Clairton and was a sergeant in the Army during World War II, a recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart, and was wounded during the Battle of the Bulge on Christmas Day of 1944. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (DeFlavis) Campoli; his sons, William J. Campoli, of Charlotte, N.C., and Larry (Dara) Campoli, of Cranberry; four grandchildren, Chase, Danielle, Max and Jake Campoli; brother, Walter Campoli, of McKeesport; and also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of his funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday in the A.J. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 555 Fifth St., Clairton, PA 15025, with the Rev. My mother is Louis Campbells daughter margaret and she had one brother charles who just passed away . So your husband would be my mothers cousin.I think most of the sisters and brothers are passed away actually I think they all are, but as a child I was always with my grandfather every summer and I remember visiting all his brothers and sisters dont remember Stella but I do remember Trust and I also remembering visiting great grandpa at the nursing home in Belleville..close to where he is buried.

I talked to one of my brothers and he said that Uncle Jim came to Redmond, Oregon years ago to visit. I was young and barely remember him coming.

I'm the grandson son of Gulio and Argia Campoli. My mother was Mary Campoli "Dent". Mary was born in Rockford IL and lived in Morgan Hill CA then moved to Oregon. Mary had brothers and sisters: John, Jim, Frank, Warren, Helen, Joe, Tony, Ann, Alida, Pearl, etc A total of 15 brothers and sisters.
