The Richard A Canavan that I am looking for was married to Nettie Gordon and living in Brooklyn NY at the time of their daughter Martha's birth in 1884 (my grandmother). Richard was born 30 Aug 1855 and died 23 Sept 1897 at 42 years old.
He married Nettie Gordon on 10 Nov 1883. Martha married George Geddis in Howes Cavern in 1902. I think the Canavan family lived there at that time. Does any of this sound familar?
