I know that my family came from Ireland to the Ohio/Pennsylvania area and then to Illinois. I know that the most recently deceased back is as follows:

Thomas W. Candor wife: Navola Margarit? Painter
^Ward Loomus Candor wife: Izora Bopes (or Zora Copes?)
^Robert Candor wife: Rebecca Jane Lynn (Linn)
^Thomas Candor wife: Margaret Montgomery
brother: Robert Candor wife: Elizabeth Lewis?
^Josias (Josiah) Candor II
^Joseph Candor (emigrated abt. 1740)

I don't know how much this lineage helps, each ^(name) is the father to the previous name.

I have a Thomas Condor, born abt 1833 Grayson, Kentucky.
He was brother to 2greatgrandfather Henry Condor. I have not followed up on the siblings. If you have more info

Hello, I am currently doing research on my family and was wondering if the information that you found on the Candor surname would be of use for my search. I am looking for Thomas Ward Candor, Thomas Larry Candor, or a combination of the names from the early 1900s and before. I am looking in particular for military service records, but anything helps at this point in time.

I just uncovered a great great grandmother Honora Candor from Ireland who came to MD and married a Peter Welch (Welsh). Although the spelling of Candor may be inconsistent it looks a if there were some on Ireland with taht name. Any connection?

Looking for info on Mae Candor, dau of Henry Candor and an unnamed Native American wife settled in Ky sometime after the govmnt moving of tribe off the Upper Sandusky in mid 1800's. Dau Mae married James Board in Breckenridge Co. Ky and they had a dau (my g.mother) Tena Board in Stephenport, Ky Aug.1901 Thanks Steve

Kim, Thanks for your note. There is not any Italian connection on this one, I'm not sure but, think Scot or Irish, maybe French.
There are records for other pre and post Rev War Candors, however no knowledge of a direct connection and I may even have a spellling problem>???? Thanks Steve

Henry Candor in Ky

Looking for any info on Henry Candor (Candour?). He and his Indian wife had at least 1 dau Mae. Mae married James Board and lived at least part of the time in Breckinridge Co. Ky. Henry would have been born abt 1850s and Mae abt 1870s.

Upon doing my research on the Candore name, I did come across Candor
at the Family History Center. I a made photocopies of this if you are interested.
