I'm sorry I do not have any info on the Cane family. I ran across your name and info while researching my family tree. I noticed that you have a picture of Rosa Lovell Pethers. Rosa was the sister of my great grandmother, Louisa Sarah Pethers (married name - Pettit). I have been trying to find out more about Louisa's many siblings.

I am very interested in the fact that you had an uncle who was a bobby. I have suspected that I once had a family member who was a bobby. I have a couple of old whistles and the brand name matches the brand that was used by bobbies. I found a site once that listed a Pethers as being a constable in the late 1800's. Once I find it again, I will let you know.
