I case Nicole (my Dau.) neglects to relate this to you, there are several Canoyer's in the Griswald and Carson areas of Iowa. They are related to to from Susan Stewart, son Charles Canoyer, Son LLoyd Canoyer to Son James and his son and daughters. When I visited in 1995 James and I rode down to Sidney? Ia. and checked out the property records. Susan owned a town lot in 1850 which we thought sowewhat remarkable as women did not usually own property. If you contact James in Carson, he can show you where Susan spent her last days, at the home of her daughter. Also her grave site in Council Bluffs as well as Alexander Canoyer.
