I am researching my ancestry and came upon the fact that my grandmother was a Cantu. I am posting this information in hopes that someone out there has a connection and could provide more information. A lot of the information I have gathered has been directly from my grandmother or the Mormon libraries. My grandmothers name is Rosa Garza Cantu. She has close to 10+ siblings, including Irma, Bertha, Anita, etc. She was born in General Bravo, Mexico. Rosa's parents were Ruben Quinteria Cantu born in General Bravo, Mexico and Dora Garza Cantu born in General bravo, Mexico..Dora had several siblings including: Agrardo, Ezequiel, Eduardo, Jose Maria, and Evita. Rosa's father (Ruben Quinteria Cantu) parents were Leonedes Cantu Cantu from Spain my grandmother believes and Seveda Quinteria Cantu thought from Spain as well. Rosa's mother (Dora Garza Cantu) parents were Pedro Garza Cantu believed from Spain and Octavia Garza Cantu believed from Spain. This is all the info I have and I am desperate for any links out there. From what I can see, my GG grandparents came from Spain and settled in the General Bravo, Mexico area. My grandmother has very "weird" tales of how a lot of 2nd, 3rd cousins married each other to keep wealth in family, but I am not sure. Anyone out there??
