Eleanor Caporaso, born December 26, 1912, in Providence, Rhode Island, passed away quietly in her sleep on July 9, 2006, at age 93. She and her husband moved to Southern California in 1947. While raising five daughters, she worked as a Realtor for ten years followed b y a career in nursing. During her retirement, she was a very active member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church and was the historian for the Italian Catholic Federation. Eleanor was a woman of many creative talents including oil painting, interior decorating, and sewing. She also cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Gerard Caporaso. She is survived by her daughters Geraldine Bender of Meshoppen, Pennsylvania, Diane Mitchell of Anaheim, Bobbi Coleman of Alta Loma, Julie Zuvich of Brea and Chris Heath-Ure of Upland, fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Eleanor's caring and loving spirit will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
