Harry Capp - Lived in St Pancras / Paddington Middlesex area in late 1700s/early 1800s

I have managed to trace my direct ancestry, with documentary evidence, back to a Harry Capp who lived in the St Pancras / Paddington area of Middlesex (now West London). I've estimated that he was born between approx 1786 and 1796, based on the year his son, also named Harry 1814-1851, was born. I also know he was a Carpenter by trade. The only trace of him I can find is on his son's marriage certificate from 1843, who was married at St John's Church in Paddington to an Olive Westwood. They had three son's: Harry 1843-1847, James 1846-1918 and Charles 1849 - ?

If anyone has any further information about this Harry Capp or the Capp Family from East Middlesex/West London, who ended up in Kensal Green until after WW2, I would really like to here from you. Happy to share anything I've got with anyone related.

Hugh Capp's daughters born in London 1820-32

Hugh Capp ran the Flower Pot pub in Bethnal Green from 1830 until his death in 1835. His first wife was Charlotte nee Lewis. They had 8 children;all bar Charles are mentioned in his 1835 will, after he remarried to Esther Sharpe. After his death Esther remarried and did not live with her step children who seem to have scattered.
I am trying to trace his daughters in particular. Charlotte born 1820, Ellen Sarah Pheobe born 1824, Mary Ann born 1825, Catherine Rosetta born 1828 (married James Bell 1845), Emma Henrietta born 1832.
I believe one was murdered in Melbourne Australia in 1856, because a copy of Hugh Capp's 1835 will was found in the deceased's bedroom. The will set up a trust for the children and I believe the woman had it for the purpose of proving her entitlement.
In the 1860's Hugh's son Edward Henry James Capp (who had left for Canada in 1854) put an ad on the front page of The Times trying to locate his brother Hugh William, who would learn 'something to his advantage'. The ad noted Edward's Toronto address and also their 'Aunt Fisher' in Bermondsey London. Henrietta Capp, probably Edward's sister (being 18 as @ the 1851 census)was visiting Fisher the night of the 1851 census.
The murdered woman used the name Elizabeth Lewis when she left London in June 1855, giving her age as 24, and the names Annie and Sophia Lewis in Melbourne. Witnesses thought she looked about 30 at the time of her death.
I am trying to determine if my theory is correct by tracing and accounting for the Capp daughters after 1856.
Any information about them would be much appreciated.

regards
Ken Oldis

MARK, GILBERT, KAPP, CAPP, SELTZER, FRANTZ

I am looking for information to begin, or add to, the connection of the Capp/Kapp in the Lebanon, Annville and Bellegrove areas. My great grandfather was Melancthon S MARK, 1/21/1872 - 6/12/1952. His wife was Mamie Ellen GILBERT, 2/10/1877 - 5/9/1958. "Lancs", as he was known, or more probably, grandma Mark (Gilbert) kept a written record of much of the family's marriages, children and deaths. The record starts with "Our Ancestors", John Michael Kapp's arrival to America in 1732. Capp is Mamie's mothers maiden name.
I'm 61, and would like to learn more about the family.
Mary Capp/Cop born about 1830 in Ohio?

Can any one help me with the following people?? David Miller (born July 22, 1827in OH - Died May 22, 1895 in SD) married a Mary Copp (born abt 1830) before 1850 probably in Ohio??. I think her mother was Sarah ( ) Cap/Cop born abt 1803 in PA??

They were found 1850 - Montgomery County, Jackson twp., OH
David Miller 23 OH (Student), Mary Miller 20 OH
In 1860 they were found 1860 - Miami County, Perry twp., Village of Stockdale, IN
David Miller 31 OH (Physician), Mary Miller 29 OH
Ellen 9 OH, George 7 OH, Milvina 4 IN, Sarah Cap / Cop 57 PA

I am assuming Mary died between 1860 and 1862. Milvina must have died between 1860 and 1870 (I had no idea about Milvina until I seen the 1860 census). I have no idea what happened to Sarah Cap/Cop.

In 1870 David had remarried to Sarah Jane Warner. and was found 1870 Census- Marshall County, West twp. P.O. - Plymouth, IN
David Miller 43OH (Physician), Sarah J. Miller 33 OH
George 17 OH, Laura 8 IN, Lizzie 6, Emma 2, William 7 mos.

Ellen may have been the Ellen Miller who married Jacob Burn in Marshall County in 1868.
George Miller married Sara Alice Holem in Marshall county, Indiana in 1883, shortly thereafter the George and the David Miller families moved to Brule County, South Dakota.

I was told that the Millers and Holem/Holms were of the Dunkard religion.
Any help on these people would be very much appreciated, I would be willing to share what I have on them.

John P. Capp found dead at his work

Appears in "The Wapanucka Press" 20 October 1904, Wapanucka, Johnston County, Indian Territory, now Oklahoma

MET AN AWFUL DEATH

Employee at Oil Mill Ground to Death While Oiling Machinery

Oklahoma City: John P. Capp, an employee of the Southwestern Cottonseed Oil Company mill, was found dead in the seed room, the night watchman making the discovery in his rounds.

The mill officials and Coroner Messenbaugh were at once notified.

When the body was discovered it was lying on the floor near a ladder under some shafting and, from wounds and bruises about the left shoulder, and the fact that much of the man's clothing was badly torn, indicated that, while engaged in his work as an oiler, his clothing became entangled in the shafting, dragging him to a quick and awful death.

Coroner Messenbaugh after viewing the body and investigating the facts concluded that an inquest was unnecessary. Capp was twenty-five years of age and had been a resident of Oklahoma City for about three years. He was a industrious young man of excellent character, and was well liked by his associates and employers.

Capp was our Grandfather, but we know very little because parents were divorced when very young. Aaron was born april 8th, 1887. He died in the sixties.

Mary Ann Capp, Died 10/6/1911, Woodland, Ca, Age 68

WOODLAND (Yolo County)- Mrs. Mary Ann Capp was found dead in bed at the home of her son in law and daughter, Mr and Mrs. Thodore Ichtertz, yesterday afternoon when Ichtertz came to town from the beet plantation after something from the house. Mrs Capp apparently expired just as she was about to arise yesterday morning.
Deceased was 68 years old and a native of Missouri, and had been living in the house where she died. Whe Ichtertz and his wife went to the beet fields, she remained to care for the house, going at night to the house of two other children. Last night she decided to stay in the house alone. For that reason, she was not found until her son in law, coming home and finding the door locked, broke into a rear door and entered.

Sacramento Bee 10.//1911
