My grandfather's name was Carmelo Cappadona from Giosia e Marea near Messina. He married my grandmother, Marrietta Argentina and had 6 children. When he first came to America, he went to Tomaqua, Pennsylvania to work with his brother, Anthony. My grandmother became pregnant and wanted to be near her sister in Norfolk, Virginia. They later moved to Brooklyn, N. Y. when their oldest son, Joseph went to college at CCNY. My grandfather was a custom tailor and had a shop on New Utrect Ave. there. There were cousins named Sorbera and Ferlazzo. There are 3 Cappadona's of this family, still living in Giosia e Marea. Melina and Roberto are both doctors and Frederico is a lawyer. They are brothers and sister and my mother's cousins. Contact me by e-mail and I'll give you addresses of the other grandchildren. My mother is the sole surviving child of Carmelo and Marietta and would be able to tell you much more about how the Ferlazzos were related and where they lived, and about my grandfather's brother, Anthony, etc.
