I too have been told that my grandfather - Ramon Caraballo, came to settle to La Isabella de Sagua, Las Villas, Cuba from the Canary Islands. He died when my father was less than 5 years old, and so very little info. is available about him. I do not know about any siblings or even about my paternal ggparents. However, he is said to have spoken with a Spanish accent (leads us to believe that he came to Cuba later in life). He married my grandmother Juana, and had 5 chidren.
