Does anyone know where I may be able to find a tree of the Carbonell Family? My mother in-Law is a Carbonell. Her family is from PR. Her grandfather was Ramon Antonio Delgado Carbonell. Unfortunately, the family can not recall much about this man because he was not around as my mother-in-laws father was growing up. With that being said, I have found many references documenting his travel to and from PR. If anyone has any suggestions I would be grateful! Thank you!

I am descendant of the Carbonell family--My Mat Grandmother was niece of Dr Salvador Carbonell. Her Father Jose Celedonio Carbonell was known as Papa Celolo. My GM's name was Georgina Francisca Cerbonell Pujals de Alcaraz. She told me the history of her family--and a cousin of hers has published a genealogy book--that has been quoted in the internet
The Carbonell lineage is Catalan. I have personally met cousins of the Carbonell family in Barcelona and Madrid.

At the time thet Salvador Carbonell studied medicine in Paris at the Sorbonne University he was a Freemason member of an avantgarde movement in politics, arts and literature.
Including people like Francico Oller and Ramon Emeterio Betances.

As a gentleman he represented Don Diego Rivera in a duel he survived and the Diamond embedded Tie Pin that Don Diego Rivera gifted him has been proudly kept by me.

The humanisitc stature of Dr Salvador Carbonell made him become and illuminaed stateman in Puerto Rico. He was an enforcer of the abolitionist movement in PR. And as part of one of the largest plantations in PR---many freed slaves assumed the last name of the family ( which was an honor as my grandma use to recant). he was vice-president of the Autonomist Party of PR ( who seeked independence from Spain) and he was jailed at the Morro castle for his political views. Many stories still to tell--but if i would say is particular of our family is that it has kept alive our raison d'etre--Basing our existence on reminding us where we come from--connects us.

Danny, and all Carbonell's around,

I have tracked my Carbonell ancestors until the last Carbonell who stayed in the Barcelona area before his sons traveled to the Americas in late 1700's.

Jose Carbonell immigrated from Barcelona (Catalunya) to Colombia in 1762; his father, Rafael Carbonell was born in Barcelona. My estimates are around 1717. I have not been able to find information about his parents, grandparents, etc. I would like to find further information on this line of the family. If anybody knows about clues that can help me through this, I would appreciate it immensely.

Also, I have been told that along with Jose, two of his brothers came to the Americas, I don’t know anything about those two. It is said they ended up in Puerto Rico, Cuba, or somewhere else in the Caribbean.

Kindest Regards,

T.G. Carbonell
Carbonell Family

Hi, all the Carbonell's that I know are puertorican (from Puerto Rico). My father is Efrain Carbonell Rodriguez (1941-). I have some data as far back as my great grandparents. Found some information about a man called Ramon Carbonell Velez who who was the mayor of a town called Cabo Rojo in Puerto Rico from 1840 to 1848. Some things I find say the family is from England/France. Other information says from Spain. I also found info that a Dr. Salvador Carbonell migrated from France to Puerto Rico in the 1800's and started the Carbonell line in Puerto Rico. I am curious about the character traits of my lineage. If anyone has more data please write. Thanks, Marlene

To Joanne Carbonell
Have just discovered your enquiry re William Charles Carbonell (1999). My late mother-in-law was the grand daughter of WC Carbonell. She was born in Ballarat Australia in 1893, her father dying 3 months before her birth. He was the "black sheep" of the family, sent out here with an annual remittance to support him. I have some newspaper cuttings mentioning the Rohde(s) family weddings etc. Happy to share any genealogy info that's relevant.

Mhm, btw. In my information of the children of Melecio Carbonell and Nievas Barba, there's Juan Carbonell born 1874, he is my great grandfather and he married Andrea Hernandez. Mariano Carbonell, Hermojenes Carbonell, Caridad Carbonell Pendoza who married Jose Pendoza, Rufina Carbonell Taningco whose husband we don't have the name of, and Tomas Carbonell who married Celing Gaudia Carbonell. Juan and Andrea Carbonell had I believe eight kids.

Some cousins of mine created a family tree, and we have it till Melecio Carbonell and Nieves Barba. Mariano Carbonell and Alejandra Diaz are on there, but we don't have any information on the kids. Melecio Carbonell would be my great great grandfather.

I am full filipino and since my father died when I was very young and some of my older relatives can only retrace the family tree up to my great great grandparents I do not really have a deep pool of information on my last name... I guess my name may have been shortened without the extra "N" or "L" but why? All I know is that I am filipino and not french.. Maybe someone out there has some information..
hi, my name is Mariah Walls-McCollum. I am the daughter of Alfred E. Walls and Deborah H. Simmons. My mother, Deborah is the daughter of Reginald L. Simmons and Dora Virginia Carbonell of Mantazas, Cuba. She was born in 1914. Dora (my grandmother) was the daughter of Pedro Carbonell and Martina Delgado Ordonez born 11-11-1892 in Mantazas, Cuba. I have no more information on my Carbonell roots but I would like to learn more. I do know that my grandmother Dora also had a brother named Reynaldo however, I don't know the names of her other siblings. I also know that I have cousins that live in galicia Spain. If you could help me find my Carbonell lineage I would appreciate it, thanks.
