Parents of Richard Carby

Surnames: Carby, Nichols,Spencer
Trying to verify parents of Richard Carby born about 1835 in Kentucky(married to Malinda Spencer). I thought his parents were William Carby and Margaret Nichols. However, other researcher has William Carby and Mary Howard. Any help? Not sure of Richards county of birth could be Hardin, Grayson, Hart, Larue. Any help appreciated.
