Saw your message on the Grayson County, KY board and decided to check to see if there was some information about the Carbys on a surname board. I am not related to the Carby family, but I do have information on the Carbys who settled in Grayson County before 1850. The Alonza Carby you are interedted in was born in 1850 and was the son of Hardin W. Carby and Mary Jane Smith. He married Nancy E. Skaggs on 7 Feb 1875 in Grayson Co, KY. Since so few Carby researchers have found the Carby Surname Board, I will go to the Grayson County board to post information on Hardin W. Carby so other researchers can have that information.
