Hi Adrian
I've just seen a rather old post of yours on Ancestory.co.uk regarding the Cardell Family.
I dig for old bottles and came across a Cardell Bottle. It's a stoneware 'Porter' bottle with the owners name stamped into it 'M CARDELL'. It was dug in Newquay, Cornwall and I'd guess dates about 1870.
Unfortunately it does not have a place name just the owner's. I would like to find out where the bottle came from. Has any of your research discovered an M Cardell in the Newquay/Cornwall area?
I'll keep this email short in case your email address has changed as your post was in 2003. If the bottle did belong to one of your relatives I'll send you a photo if you would like.
Hope you receive this!
