COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa -- Galilea Cardenas, 2, Columbus Junction, died Saturday, May 8, 2004, at Unity Hospital, Muscatine.
Services are at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Columbus Junction. The Rev. Bernie Weir will officiate. Casket bearers are Vicento Perez, Jose Mojarro, Ruben Zuniga and Rene Zuniga. Honorary casket bearer is Manuel Ayala. Burial will be at Conesville Cemetery.
Visitation is at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction.
Galilea was born Jan. 9, 2002, in Iowa City, the daughter of Rafael and Chriselda Zuniga Cardenas.
She loved to sing and to wear ponytails in her hair.
Survivors include her parents; two brothers, Rafael and Jose Antonio Cardenas, both at home; paternal grandparents, Rafael and Antonia Cardenas of Leon, GTO, Mexico; maternal grandmother, Alice Zuniga of Columbus Junction; several aunts and uncles, Diego Rivera and wife, Martha, Rigo Ayala and wife, Lupe, Jose Escoto and wife, Lourdes, Tony Cardenas and wife, Elena, Chela Cardenas, Eva Cardenas and Sergio Cardenas, all of Mexico, Linda Zuniga and Frances Ayala and husband, Manuel, all of Columbus Junction, and Ida Lagunas and husband, Reynaldo, of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Jose Luis Zuniga
