Hi there,

There seem to be different origins to the name Cardon, but I would adhere, for the branch in western europe, to the origin of Cardona. I was born in Gent (where you can find our coat of arms in the Gent cathedral twice) and my mother is from Cardona. The coat of arms of the town is the same as that of the Cardon family: three thistles on a gold background with the mention "Insigniae senatuspopulisque Cardonensis" for the town and "Crescit in arduis" for the family.

If you wish to exchange information I would be glad to do so. Please contact me by email, I will be travelling the next couple of weeks but will get back to you as soon as possible. I would like to compile as much info on this branch as possible.

Thanks for your reply. I did this research for a friend of mine and am not related to the Cardon family. I'm sorry but I don't have any more info to pass on to you. I never found anything else.

Hi Lori,
My great grandfather was Louis Alphonse Napoleon CARDON, b. 1851 from France, possibly near Lille. His father’s name was Frederick. Louis married Alice ASHTON in London, 1876, and they had 4 children, Louise Cardon (my grandmother) and Héléne, Maurice and Frederick Cardon, who were all living at the same address in Holborn in 1901.
I know that these are almost certainly different Cardons to the ones you are researching, but I wondered if by chance you might have come across anything, particularly about Cardons in Northern France which might link to my great grandfather?

I am helping a friend to find her ancestors and do her family tree. Looking for info on a Rene A Cardon who was born in Eng;land of French parents came to New York threo Ellis Island abt 1907. I am searching for information on the Cardon family from Comine, Quesney, Sur Deule, N. France. The family names are :
Andre Francois b. abt. 1700, father of Pierre Philippe b. abt. 1735.
Jean Baptiste b. abt.1770, son of Pierre Philippe.
Joseph b. abt.1796, son of Jean Baptiste
Louis Edouard b. apr. 2, 1832 in Duelmont, d. Apr 3 1893 Comine, Quesney, Sur Duele. Son of Joseph.
Louis Edouard was married to Sophia Elisa Verschere.
Louis Charles was the son of Louis Edouard and Sophia.
He was born Aug 2 1875, Comine,Quesney, Sur Duele.
Louis Charles married Anna Josephine Verschere in 1903.
Their son was Edmond Jean who was born Apr 13, 1907 in Canada. He married Emielene Combres.
I would appretiate any information. I have tried many sites but alas cannot read French and get hopelessly lost. Thankyou.

Sara(h), daughter would be approximately 44 to 46 now.
Lived in Springfield Ohio around 1958. Gave me up for adoption to Ralph & Betty Pugsley in Ashland Kentucky.

I am trying to find info on my G.G. grandmother:
Augusta (Cardon) Veit who was married to a Ludwig Robert Veit. They had 4 children: Robert-10, Emil-9, Eugene-5, and Ida-5months at these ages when they came to the U.S. from Germany in 1886 on the ship "Werra" with their mom, Augusta.
Any info. will be appreciated

Still looking for birth siblings. Have found that adoption papers of bio mother read Patroicia E Cardon but the doctor and hospital bills show Charlene Cardon. Anyone know a Charlene with a daughter named Sarah betwen 44 and 47that lived in Springfield Ohio in the late 50's Please please let me know.
